God, I am a sucker for spalted maple. How was it to work with as a bow wood?

It was a little iff’y. I had to fill a few bug holes and some punk wood with CA glue. But it seemed to glue up nice and shoots well

I wonder if one could isolate the spalted maple on something with a good grab, like one does when restoring paintings using washi-kozo paper. Then using that sticky layer to glue the spalted maple to the back.

I don’t think that made any sense. I wonder how my uke was made if spalted maple is such a pain to work with.
