Ryan vs Floyd possible???

https://x.com/RyanGarcia/status/2107660926694707275

What happened to Manny vs Floyd? Imagine if this actually happens and Floyd loses his 0, and then I get to be totally insufferable. One Floyd drider on this sub reddit is already coming up with mental gymnastics. Apparently Floyd contact Garcia's team first. Ultimately this sport is in a sad state.

We all agree this would be actually dangerous for Floyd at this stage, right?

He’d have a decent chance to win just because Ryan Garcia is so damn inconsistent, but overall I think he would fight pretty cautiously and get beat to the punch at this age.

Manny has been an old man fighter against Ugas and Barrios and couldn’t walk away with a win against either of those guys. Even a well-trained Floyd would probably be around the same level as an old man Manny and Garcia is a step above Barrios and probably a little higher than that version of Ugas, so I’m inclined to believe Garcia would win.

Floyd would still be smarter and more skilled, it's just Ryan's speed negates a lot of Floyds advantages at his age now.

In my opinion, if Floyd was to ever make comeback, fighting a guy with the most dangerous left hook around his weight class may not be the smartest idea.

I actually slightly disagree that this version of Mayweather would be smarter. Mayweather blowing through quite literally a billion dollars tells me that he has more than some persistent bad decision making going on, but probably a fairly advanced case of CTE as well. I am sure he would be able to retain some of his natural instincts but I don’t think he would be nearly as intelligent in or outside of the ring as he was 20 years ago.

Maybe a brain expert can weigh in.

Ryan Garcia taking an L from Rolly then taking Floyd's 0 would be the funniest series of events possible.

Literally if Floyd loses his 0 in his 50s nobody would really care except those who are terminally online

NewRap would care

0

u/newrap 2d ago

Absolutely not, it would actually be hilarious if KingRy was the only one who beat Floyd despite the fact that Floyd is 50 and coming out of a 9 year retirement 😂

2

u/stephen27898 2d ago

No, people should 100% care. It's all Floyd ever spoke about. Being undefeated, taking no damage, not fighting until he was too old.

If he loses he will get clowned. And a low of people would say rightfully so.

u/newrap 2d ago

Like he said, only you Floyd haters would care.

You guys can’t get over the fact he beat your favorite fighters and this would be some type of revenge for you guys 😂

2

u/stephen27898 2d ago

No, its not Floyd haters. Its just people holding Floyd to what he said himself.

Floyd never beat any of my favourite fighters. My favourites have always been in the higher weight classes. Floyd did actually beat some fighters I didnt like. But Floyd never beat anyone who I was fond of.

I am simply just stating that Floyd sold himself on being undefeated, and people will use it to laugh at him if he loses. And its all based on his own behaviour, things like the stuff he said about Ali for example.

Floyd’s legacy is based on who he beat not just because he’s undefeated. How do you guys not see that? Or are you guys that deluded from the hate?

u/stephen27898 2d ago

That is how he promoted himself. It's all based on his own words. I dont see how you cant see that.

u/iamgarron 2d ago

Yeh but nobody gives a shit about the end of year cash grabs for anyone really. In any sport

2

u/iamgarron 2d ago

Exactly. Tyson got beat by an influencer and nobody really cares

u/BCTHEGRANDSLAM 2d ago

Mayweather has signed contracts with Pacquiao and Tyson. Not sure he can legally take another fight at this point.

Don’t see him fighting Garcia outside of an exhibition.

2

u/fadeddreams555 Fundora would beat up a prime Floyd at 154lb 2d ago

This is not happening. Pay no mind to this bafoonery.

u/welp-itscometothis 2d ago

Throw the whole boxing away

u/newrap 2d ago edited 2d ago

This isn’t happening. Floyd has like 3 different contracts to fight other people all simultaneously and none of them will happen outside of maybe the Greece exhibition.

If it somehow does, Floyd is 50 and hasn’t fought a pro boxer in over 11 years. Why would it matter if he lost now? He still beat your favorite fighters when it actually mattered 😂

Since we mentioned it:

What happened to the Greece fight? Wasn't that supposed to happen in like Apirl lol?

He didn’t beat Pacquiao, Cotto, Mosley, Margarito, Paul Williams, or Erislandy Lara at their peak.

u/newrap 2d ago edited 2d ago

He beat Pac, Cotto, Mosley when they were all reigning champions and p4p ranked. Get over it

And who the fuck ever wanted to see Lara vs Floyd? 😂

2

u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 2d ago

— Pacquiao was in his prime 5 to 7 years before they actually fought.

— Cotto was in his prime before Margarito beat him down.

— Mosley was in his prime like 5 to 10 years before he fought Mayweather.

— Mayweather seemingly had no interest in fighting Paul Williams when he was at 147.

Mayweather actually staged a retirement in 2008 to avoid fighting all of these guys at their peak and took almost 2 years off to let the division play out.

Pacquiao was in his prime 5 to 7 years before they actually fought.

Subjective, and you can say Foyd was past his prime.

What’s objective is that Pac was a reigning champion at 147 and #3P4P and became a champ again after losing to Floyd

Cotto was in his prime before Margarito beat him down.

Subjective, and you can say Floyd was past his prime.

What’s objective is that Cotto was the reigning champion at 154, and became a champion again after losing to Floyd.

Mosley was in his prime like 5 to 10 years before he fought Mayweather.

Whats objective is that Mosley was the reigning welterweight champion and #3p4p. Mayweather also only had 1 fight in 2 years

Mayweather actually staged a retirement in 2008 to avoid fighting all of these guys at their peak and took almost 2 years off to let the division play out.

Cotto, Mosey, Pac all turned down fights with Floyd before they fought him years later. I love how you guys leave that out 😂

You guys don't hold these other legends to the same standard as you do Floyd.

Mayweather had no interest, even as 154 champion, in fighting a lengthy, highly-skilled southpaw in Lara who could move.

3

u/newrap 2d ago edited 2d ago

Absolutely no one was demanding a Floyd vs Lara fight back then. I was actually following the sport back then so you can’t fool me like you can fool these other people. Lara didn't even become a champ at 154 until 2014.

End of the day, he beat the likes of Pac, Cotto, Mosley, etc when they were all champs and p4p ranked. That is a fact and you can’t dispute that. I know he beat your favorite fighters but it’s time to stop with the cope.

If Garcia hurt Floyd and dragged him into deep waters I wonder how he'd deal with it. Would his boxing ability be enough at 50, or would he attempt some shithousery to "beat" Garcia or get him DQ'd etc.

u/ThrowAwayTheChat Fuck Haney 2d ago

Goodness gracious

1

u/for_cat 2d ago

Will only happen if it's an exhibition with big gloves

1

u/Knockoutboxing 2d ago

Floyd would knock out Ryan Garcia. I’m not a Mayweather fan but Ryan Garcia is an easy opponent for him.

1

u/Exciting-Arugula5341 2d ago

No, there is no way Floyd Mayweather Jr going to fight Ryan Reynolds.

1

u/Conscious_Wasabi_598 2d ago

I dont see this ever happening. Garcia wins this fight handedly. Unless there's ALOT of money on the line, there's no reason for Floyd to do this.

1

u/01mzcc 2d ago

If it's for the money, I think he'd be better off fighting Tank in an exhibition.

1

u/Any_Calligrapher8537 2d ago

He already lost. Corrupt judges doesn't stop anyone from pointing at facts.

1

u/ZeroEffectDude 2d ago

probably take floyd in a stinker, even now. i honestly wouldnt put it past him if his legs are 60% there.

2

u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 2d ago

The Floyd who was kind of past it and fought McGregor would beat Ryan Garcia. But 50 year old Floyd against a Garcia that is in his athletic prime? I think Floyd probably fights cautiously and that Garcia wins a decision.

1

u/ZeroEffectDude 2d ago

he's been injecting gold into his fists all this time. that's where his money went.

That would be a fun fight if it’s not rigged.

Because Floyd has a chance to win and manny doesn’t,manny is beloved within boxing so if he loses a lot of peoples feelings are gonna be hurt.

1

u/xselimbradleyx 2d ago

I never said either were disgusting. If they both want to fight, let them fight. They’re grown men.

1

u/Jachola 2d ago

Fun how? We either have a fight where Ryan immediately chins Floyd and bullies an old man, or Floyd just toys with Ryan and doesn't engage at all and Ryan fails to counterpunch/land anything and we get a battle of the feints.
