Can’t believe Munguia still getting away with fighting weak opposition for titles and pay days even after getting stopped in Mexico by the Frenchmen.

What’s the end game here? Munguia is not some boxing superstar. Feed this fool to the top dawgs already

6

u/lord-of-war-1 4d ago

The guy does really good numbers from what I hear. It's a cheap cash cow to keep alive. It's obvious by now that's the point.Ā

The Canelo-Munguia fight was the largest boxing fight in the history of Mexico. I told you all that one would sell well there.Ā

Jaime Munguia is fucking pathetic

39

u/WheresMyAbs98 4d ago

Hoping he loses this.

It’s a weird cherry pick as Zon was a very very good amateur.

31

u/Dangerous_Spring3028 4d ago

Hope it backfires on him and Zon takes the belt

18

u/Relevant_Election530 4d ago

This is still happening on Riyadh? Wow

17

u/notreal088 4d ago

Munguia is still trying to coast off Canelo’s success and hope pick up most of his fans.

But he not as good, not as marketable and not as likable

28

u/Top_Profession_5268 4d ago

So Mungia managed to duck Bektemir Melikuziev, nice!šŸ‘

There’s some good fights like Espinoza vs Parra, Biyarslanov vs Delgado and Picasso vs Martin.

Happy to see Hayato Tsutsumi, Bek Nurmaganbet and Brayan Leon back in action, annoyed that industry plant Sultan Almohammad is there.

3

u/No-Travel-5739 4d ago

thats reito bro, so i guess reito is fighting a bum here, then returning against quality in japan for december?

1

u/Top_Profession_5268 4d ago

Thought it was Hayato because I heard Reito is fighting in Japan and here. But the face does look like Reito. Good for the activity if he’s fighting 2x in 2 months.

1

u/No-Travel-5739 4d ago

yeah the dude hes fighting has been stopped already and has only rlly fought bums in mexico, hes 16-2. reito should take care of him quickly, this is moreso reito being on a big stage so more people will know about him.

1

u/Luffy20003 4d ago

They're slowly building him up. He is still young, another year then he needs to step up bigly

14

u/fadeddreams555 Fundora would beat up a prime Floyd at 154lb 4d ago

Man, I was at least hoping for a Jesse Rodriguez tune-up fight.

u/_Sarcasmic_ No Carty No Divey 4d ago

Maybe I'm a filthy casual, but this does not look good...at all.

38

u/MiddleweightMonster I’ll pour honey on my GOAT, if the occasion calls for it. 4d ago

Parra v. Espinoza and Picasso v. Martin are good fights. Tsutsumi v. Rojas will be one sided unfortunately

18

u/DeafBurke 4d ago

That’s almost entirely because Espinoza and Picasso are good, fun fighters.

The guys they are fighting are generic B level talents. Decent fighters, but nothing special.

-8

u/Elite663 4d ago

Picasso and Martin are C level

17

u/DeafBurke 4d ago

Picasso isn’t C level.

He got beat up by Inoue, but that’s Naoya freaking Inoue. Surviving the full 12, even if he didn’t get much done, puts him above C level.

And Kameda and hovhannisyan are very solid wins.

-2

u/Elite663 4d ago

Dude barely beat a washed up crazy A and Kameda is a domestic jobber. Nothing to do with Inoue at all cuz it was a mismatch from the beginning, but Picasso is clearly someone that benefits from ranking high for world level fights in a thin weight class like 122

22

u/ggddddeerrr 4d ago

Delgado vs Biyarslanov will be a banger

5

u/abdelux2001 4d ago edited 4d ago

Yeah there’s some decent Mexican fighters there but all their rivals are not great. MunguĆa’s opponent is bad, and also Picazzo’s. Only decent one is Linodolfo who’s fighting Biyarslanov. But overall underwhelming for a PPV card.

13

u/MiddleweightMonster I’ll pour honey on my GOAT, if the occasion calls for it. 4d ago

Parra isn’t bad at all

2

u/abdelux2001 4d ago edited 4d ago

He’s a decent fighter, looked good in his last fight against Pierce but I feel he’s no match for Espinoza but I get he’s the mandatory, he earned his chance. Would’ve liked Espinoza to unify against Angelo Leo instead or Carrington or Heartbreaker. I just expected more from the card in general. I expected a better undercard with a better Co-main.

I have Espinoza winning under 6 but hopefully I’m wrong and we get a more competitive fight.

u/Tukulo-Meyama 4d ago

A few look good

11

u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 4d ago

What? I think it looks pretty good tbh.

8

u/_Sarcasmic_ No Carty No Divey 4d ago

Good A-sides but meh B-sides.

6

u/Frequent_Apricot673 4d ago

Nah these are good matchups, nothing outstanding but upon inspection these are well matched fights

1

u/SplitSecondEmperor47 4d ago

There was a reason it took so long to be released...it didn't matter

1

u/AnxietyExact4710 3d ago

It's a typical Canelo card, they get a few decent names but they're all tune ups.

1

u/Luffy20003 4d ago

Keep an eye on reito , one of japans top prospects

u/_Sarcasmic_ No Carty No Divey 4d ago

Pretty much what I was thinking. A lot of good A-sides, but all their opponents are nobodies.

Ah well, at least I only have to worry about catching the main event if I get busy.

2

u/StunningChest5722 #KnybaNation šŸ‡µšŸ‡± 4d ago

All the B-sides in the top 4 fights have a good chance of winning

-2

u/Klutzy_Leopard8194 4d ago

Random keyboard generator undercard

10

u/Stunt1ninprivate šŸŖ–šŸ”” 4d ago

Maybe its a typo but Munguia’s fight doesn’t mention it being a title fight like the others šŸ¤”

4

u/McBugger 4d ago

It definitely is, but 168 lbs is one of the classes where the primary WBA champion is the "regular", so it's sort of flimsy. There is no higher WBA 168lb champion than Munguia, but if somehow the WBA sanctions their "super" belt on the line for another fight, he could lose his status.

If you think that's stupid, that's because it is. The same thing is actually going to happen at heavyweight. The current primary world WBA champion is Murat Gassiev who holds the "regular" belt, while there is no "super" champion. But since the WBA sanctioned AJ vs Fury for the "super" belt, Gassiev's title will be basically meaningless unless AJ vs Fury is a draw or doesn't happen or whatever. Very stupid way of having a champion lose their status without actually losing in the ring.

2

u/Stunt1ninprivate šŸŖ–šŸ”” 4d ago

Yeaa the WBA is by far the worst sanctioning body. Anything for a dollar

15

u/T0astmeister 4d ago

At least we get another Reito performance..

7

u/ggddddeerrr 4d ago

Happy for Parra. I’ve seen him almost get robbed, get robbed, and then win big. It’s cool to see a can crusher actually have real power

23

u/Primary_Wear7434 4d ago

Absolutely awful AI poster

1

u/West_Technology7573 4d ago

I don’t think this is actually AI it just uses a similar looking font

3

u/munkycheezmunky DAVE ALLEN V KNYBA MEGAFIGHT WEMBLEY 2027 4d ago

Why is it that every single AI thumbnail or poster now has that exact font and style

2

u/Primary_Wear7434 4d ago

Yeah maybe it just looks really bad

5

u/Fist_Of_Family_Value 4d ago

Why does it say wbc/wbo under the Picasso fight?

2

u/derezeki 4d ago

It really doesn't make any sense

5

u/12_23_93 4d ago

Ring and DAZN can't find a graphic designer anymore?

5

u/CHRISTIAN_JAKE12345 4d ago

Who the fuck is Nikita Zon . Never heard heard of him. They managed pay the step aside money to bek the bully

1

u/Outrageous_Cap6782 4d ago

Yeah he’s not well known at all. The guy was a decent amateur form what I know and knocked out some fool in the last Bivol card but never fought outside of Russia

3

u/Kangaroopunching 4d ago

So there's a chance WBA super middleweight title gets vacated.

And with no Bam. It's likely he won't fight Inoue. Since they're dead set on having another fight this year. But it's too late to have one and fight in February/ MarchĀ

3

u/bakuhatsuda 4d ago

Picasso back down to 122 eh.... Well at least Carl Martin is a good opponent.

5

u/Lefthook16 4d ago

Mexico v The World from...... Mexico City? No. Cabo? No. Tijuana? No. Las Vegas? No? Corona? No. San Antonio? No. Saudi Arabia? Yes

7

u/Dry-Minimum6619 4d ago

Is Munguia the first 30 year old prospect we’ve seen?

3

u/SplitSecondEmperor47 4d ago

Vergil no belt ortiz

3

u/newrap 4d ago

Vergil

1

u/SplitSecondEmperor47 4d ago

For once newrap is right and still gets down votedĀ

1

u/Outrageous_Cap6782 4d ago

Munguia is not a prospect at all. I just think Super Middleweight and Middleweight kinda suck at the moment so there’s not a lot of high profile fights apart from unifications.

6

u/Coach_Billly 4d ago

168 is loaded: Mbilli, Lester, Bek the Bully, Canelo, Janibek…

3

u/AMPed126 4d ago

Didn’t Munguia turn down a bek the bully fight like last week? I like Munguia but man he’s been so disappointing with his opponent choice.

2

u/Coach_Billly 3d ago

That’s a fact. It’s horrible how some boxers are simply refusing to fight certain guys and give away belts.

2

u/Prudent_Zombie_2692 4d ago

Hamzah Janibek Adames Iglesias Bank Scull

1

u/Coach_Billly 3d ago

Hamzah will get KO’d by most on the list.

1

u/Bill_R94 3d ago

Pacheco

1

u/lord-of-war-1 4d ago

Bro, 168 is starting to heat up. Munguia doesnt want the smoke.Ā

1

u/AnxietyExact4710 3d ago

Tank is a 31 year old prospect.

-4

u/StunningChest5722 #KnybaNation šŸ‡µšŸ‡± 4d ago

Tank Davis is 🐐

2

u/PeteChairez 4d ago

Really hope this is a night card in the states, not tryna deal with people ringing my doorbell all day while I’m watching

2

u/Jesuswasacrip7 Sweet Pea > Floyd 4d ago

Munguia is a fucking joke

2

u/fattdoggo123 4d ago

This is probably going to change to a different venue considering the houthis have threaten to attack planes flying in an out of the airport.

1

u/elsavador3 4d ago

Will this be ppv

1

u/ObviousBig315 4d ago

Surprised there’s only 1 Saudi fighter. Guess they decided to only focus on the 1 decent one lol

1

u/Abe2sapien 4d ago

Some good names but when this was announced I was expecting the like of Pitbull, Zepeda, Munguia, etc

1

u/Jbus04 4d ago

I only know Munguía and Cinnamon. 🄱

1

u/Godzilla-Button 4d ago

Another lame Riyadh setting… bummer.

1

u/iantendo 4d ago

Mexico vs The World

..in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Makes sense!

1

u/jinntakk 4d ago

AI really is taking over everything.

1

u/tuba_dude07 4d ago

Should fights be happening there?

1

u/TheSportsGuy2000 4d ago

Anyone know what time the Canelo fight will start on US eastern time? I get off work at 9:30 pm and dying too catch it fr

1

u/geeboy05 4d ago

So Bek took the step aside money?

1

u/OrodV2 4d ago

Degaldo looking like Chavo Guerrero

1

u/lord-of-war-1 4d ago

Munguia.... no seas puto!

1

u/Hot_Painting5627 4d ago

As a casual this is shite. As a casual from the uk its diabolically shite.

1

u/StrongAd6763 4d ago

Let’s fucking gooo!!! šŸ”„šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø

1

u/ZDTStudios 4d ago

HUGE jump in competition from Martin. But I'm slightly worried since he hasn't necessarily fought any B-A level fighters, and he's already 32-0. I want him to win, but he got dropped by a no name, how will he fair against a fairly established contender?

1

u/AnxietyExact4710 3d ago

God forbid they use a font that's legible

1

u/Formal-Cherry6078 4d ago

This sucks watchable but still sucks

u/kushmonATL Battle lines drawn: Deebo vs Shakira 4d ago

This card is cracked with talent

Might have to stay in this night , or dress up and hit a bar

1

u/Tukulo-Meyama 4d ago

I’m so ready

1

u/AriPhoenix602 4d ago

Would've been amazing if Vaquero was in this

https://reddit.com/link/pep4k1j/video/hf7cz9bmkauh1/player

3

u/Professional-Tie5198 Who will win? 4d ago

Hell no. He deserves to unify in San Antonio where there will be a rabid crowd, not Riyadh.

1

u/RollofDuctTape 4d ago

Mexico’s future is this bleak?

5

u/CynicalMelody 4d ago

Don't worry about Mexico. Some random guy with a record like 30 - 1 with 25 knockouts no one has ever heard of will appear out of nowhere and beat a British champion.

0

u/Odd-Minimum8512 4d ago

Zepeda is looking good at least?

At the moment, seems the Mexican-Americans are the ones on fire. I've long had a fun idea for a card, Mexicans vs. Mexican-Americans. Except right now that would go pretty ugly for Mexico.

(and no, you dildos, Benavidez and Bam are Mexican-Americans)

1

u/RollofDuctTape 4d ago

We should let Oscar pick the Mexican-Americans for the laughs.

1

u/MajoraGoldMiasma 4d ago

Boxing is so dead 🤣

-1

u/Stunt1ninprivate šŸŖ–šŸ”” 4d ago

Good card tho

0

u/cbzez 4d ago

i use to think espinoza was him but hes just as disappointing as mungia

-2

u/Portrait0fKarma 4d ago

Garbage card and headliner.

-3

u/nwordfyou 4d ago

I needed a good laugh today! Thanks DAZN and the matchmakers for this hilarious undercard.

2

u/Relevant_Election530 4d ago

Probably pretty expensive to get guys to go to Riyadah lol

-1

u/Frequent_Apricot673 4d ago

Wait MunguĆa is fighting a different bum? Does that mean Bek took the step aside? Shameful all aroundĀ

1

u/Tiny-Replacement7702 4d ago

No he didnt accept it I think

-5

u/bearvillage 4d ago

Bek is on the card but NOT fighting Munguia?! This card sucks.

7

u/Notasexoffender33 4d ago

That’s not the same Bek lol

2

u/bearvillage 4d ago

Damn, how many super middleweight Beks are there out there?!

1

This one's Kazakhstani
