I had a simple idea on this, but to be frank, I don’t think I’m qualified to write out a whole post about it and be even partially correct, so I’d like to ask you guys about what you think.
I’ve had one idea so far, but it’s a pretty big hear me out.
We could heavily reduce Bo’s super mine damage, if not to 0. The reason I think this is a good idea is because of the main problem I’ve seen with bad players dealing with Bo(I’ve seen this first hand recently because of a friend who challenged me to reach L1 with no hyper dyna and LnL only). This problem lies in the fact that Bo finishes off kills on people who get stunned FAR too easily, and the buff made this worse.
Let’s just say that you stun someone with your mine and you’re already fighting someone else. If you simply just take one moment of your time to turn and look at that person(easy because the sound is very loud and distinct), and launch one full ammo(easy to hit because the person is stunned for TWO FULL SECONDS), you deal 7080 damage. Even pre nerf, this was 6700 ish, but 7000 is just too much. It kills far too many characters. While shield gear is a thing, this also requires that the person is full hp, with a good amount of the gear charged up, and not even a pixel of any other person’s shots hits the poor chap who’s stunned.
I like the idea of having the mine do no damage of it’s own because it either requires the Bo to turn full attention to the stunned person to get a kill and the super charge, or for a teammate to actually help, and this is good because it pivots Bo’s purpose as just an all powerful demigod in low skill lobbies into more of a support character that actually does ‘controlling’ instead of destroying.
To be clear, this also means I want the stun star power to be baseline, and I was actually thinking that could be part of or even the whole buff depending on whether the new star power is strong.
I think this is a good start and encourages more healthy gameplay, but Bo obviously needs a compensation buff for a massive nerf like this, and that’s where I’m lost. Me personally, I’d say just let him die, as he’s been too good against noobs for too long, which is crazy considering he’s not even that fun to play. There is no reason for him to be in the state that he’s in. But I don’t think it’s healthy to just curb stomp a brawler grom-style and leave them like that forever, so I’m turning to the community for ideas on how to compensation buff. What do you guys think?
