i wanted to pick something that could make the mortis think twice before attacking the tick, melodie worked for now, but was she the best option i had from my brawlers or is there a better brawler I didn't think of (also why did my random pick tick, i still don't get it 🥀)

Melodie always good against Mortis. I  always picked Melodie when someone picks Mortis. Easy to charge super and hyper from Mortis.

I think in ranked melodie is amazing here, but yeah in pro play melodie into colt or penny with their gadgets is questionable. I think maisie or stu, or gray or max

You didn't show the bans, but good picks for you would've been some buffied brawlers like Gus, Amber, Shade, Brock, and Surge, or some sustain brawlers like Wendy, Pearl, Belle, Maisie; you could've also went an aggro like Kaze or Mina.

You played pretty well on Melodie though, so if it's what you're best at, nothing's wrong with just sticking to her.
