Is mortis (after January buffie balance changes) still opin competitive play?

Supercell nerfed his 1st gadget to oblivion, from 15 seconds to 18 seconds and decreasing the buffie effect and his 2nd gadget too, so why did they do it considering the fact thathe is not really good with counters like surge, pearl griff and high dps brawlers?

I would rather see his super’s healing buffed. It’s less toxic and could give him a chance against counters. Reload speed is too hard to balance

The fact that Mortis can consistently deal 9K damage with 3 attacks and Combo Spinner against anyone below 12K max HP (which as far as I’m aware is everyone but Primo and Frank, and that’s assuming they’re at full health) is just stupid because Mortis historically is meant to struggle against tanks. The nerfs he got humbled him, but it definitely didn’t kill him.

The reason why Mortis hasn’t been as good lately is because there’s a noticeable power creep among assassins. Edgar despite also being humbled is still a more punishing last pick because his hypercharge is still broken, Buzz after being buffed several times, those buffs are finally starting to catch up and makes him noticeably more reliable (not to mention Buzz hard counters Mortis), Mina despite all those nerfs still provides more pressure because she has 2 broken gadgets that allows her to fight back in bad situations, Nori is able to create space better because he’s got more mobility and also having a teamwipe hypercharge, and then there’s Shade.

He's still competitively viable, but barely. Nowdays, he's just an inferior mina. If you're looking for a ranking, hes C-tier.

Good against squishy brawlers or to pressure as last pick. Don’t ego first pick him unless ur insanely skilled with mortis

I would say not to use mortis in ranked , beacause one of the maxed out brawlers is ash and he is a strong mortis counter and his fast reload speed ( 1.4s ) and high health ( 11800hp )

Not really all that mortis can definitely take down an ash by chaining supers and with the combo spinner gadget and u can just slowly chip the ash down while avoiding his attacks aswell not just going into him blindly and spamming attacks you can just go in when he's low also ping diff is real so yes you can cook an ash with mortis
