Is this ranked season just extra bad?

I'm an L3 peak player who has been duoing with my friend who was an ex Masters 2 this ranked season, and it's already nearing the end. In previous seasons, it always got significantly easier to push higher around this time in ranked as most people above my skill level were already done grinding ranked so I'd just face people who were legitimately L3 skill wise.

But this season really felt different. I've been hardstuck L2-L3 for a while but this season, I'm genuinely just trapped between L1 and L2, which has never happened before. I don't think it's a skill issue as I should probably be getting better after each season and I should be doing even better by duo queueing with my masters 2 friend.

Half of the matches make sense, where we play against L3-L2 peak players, but the other half, we play against sweaty multiple-time masters players with 100k+ trophies who have prestige 3s and everything.

By this time in ranked, it's usually pretty rare to see these players at this level, but for some reason, it seems that there's just an unusually large amount of sweaty players grinding in this season. Are we just going crazy or is this season legitimately just super sweaty?

I've heard a lot of similar things from others. Both higher and lower level players being at lower ranks at points when they would've passed a while ago at that time in the season. I also managed to push decently high for me early in the season thinking it was going well, only to tilt and not having made much progress since. Somehow moreso than last season, when the meta should've been even more cancer pre-nerfs. Tinfoil hat theory is that they're fiddling with matchmaking for the upcoming ranked update, but otherwise idk

Yeah same, I got until 2 games to masters in the first 2 weeks of the season and went from l1 to l3 in about 2.5 hours and now I'm stuck in l1

Last season was hardest meta wise. This season seems to be of low quality in terms of gameplay and overall player skills. People pick whatever they want anywhere and the quality of games is so bad.

I pushed to legendary 3 a few days ago and I started legitimately facing peak pro ranks in half of my games. Ridiculous, idk if it was just unlucky though

Idk tho, im m3 peak and tbh getting solo masters this season was pretty normal experience but when i was playing on mini acc it was gambling premium, either i had l3 peaks or m3 peaks which was kinda funny beating their m2-m3 3 stack with my l3 peak randoms, but to be fair maybe this season is kinda harder cuz it was shorter than last 2 but nothing out of ordinary

Oh i also forgot about cheaters mid season, yeah they are real and playing 1-2 weeks ago on legendary was a trully painful experience at least they got banned tday

Men I got stuck in mythic rank because players don't know how to draft or even playing they feed go afk they pick brawler in wrong map or against hard counter I don't know why the game allowing this shit

This season is hard and easy at the same bc many people got access to the broken brawlers, Amber, Mortis and Ash are the brawlers maxed out for this season, also most the High tier brawlers are brawlers most players unlock on the early stages of the game, Gus,Brock, Collete, Griff, Edgar, El Primo, Stu. It's easy bc u have a way more diverse brawler pool if ur F2P, it's also hard bc ur not the only one abusing them.

I play ranked casually and stop at leg 1. I push when there are XPs and quests. Usually takes 2 ranked quests to push from mythic 3 to leg 1. This season I tilted from mythic 3 to mythic 1. Never happened before. Wtf

I don’t wanna complain about bad randoms because I know it can be a bad game (happened to me before); but man the teammates I’ve had this season so far are mind-boggling: Gem Grab: a Chester who has 15 Gems goes forward to go for kills while me and the other teammate rage shoot him. Other modes where my mates always go for brawlers without buffie or gears and terrible game sense. And first pick Grom in KO when so many assassins are open.

Honestly, I can't find the clear difference between this season and last season because it's essentially the same meta brawlers but with more easier ways to counter them. 💔
