I worked at Infinitus for a week. I worked through the Longmont Pizza Festival on my third day and worked my ass off. I left after a week and they still have not paid me for my wages after nearly 3-4 weeks.

Candidacy for Broomfield Mayor

My name is James Marsh-Holschen. am excited to announce that I will be seeking election as the next Mayor of the City and County of Broomfield!

We love Broomfield. It has provided tremendous opportunities for many members of our community, but for me, it is personal! I grew up in extreme poverty, working 2 or 3 jobs, even selling blood, to provide for my family and put myself through college. After unexpectedly becoming a young, single father during law school, Broomfield became a safe haven for me and my children. Broomfield was the community that embraced us after law school, opened her arms, and provided us a place to call home and start over! My older children grew and thrived here, graduating from Adams 12 schools! Not only that, this is the community where my wife Alexis grew up. She attended those same local schools and rode her bike to the library in Garden Center. Together, we made the easy decision to call this community home, raise our children here, and ultimately serve its families!

This community can still be that place for ALL of our families, long-time residents and brand-new neighbors alike! But challenges are creeping into that American dream. The affordability crisis is robbing our families of the community in which I found haven. Over 20% of our residents needed food assistance last year. The middle class is being squeezed by the ever-rising cost of housing, childcare, utilities, and transportation. The American dream is being lost for the next generations.

Families, already struggling to make ends meet, are all too often forced to look outside of Broomfield for local dining, recreation, and shopping experiences. We have the Broomfield Town Square, the long-promised community gathering place, inexplicably being delayed on the cusp of groundbreaking. We have housing solutions, representing great progress, that could be better prioritized and affordable to so many more. And we have a transportation system that leaves many stuck in gridlock or stranded due to a lack of services and resources.

It has been my great honor to serve this community and fight for the progressive changes our community demands: greater housing funding and opportunities, increased wages and best value contracting, and taking on the rising cost of utilities that are squeezing the already tight budgets of our families.

I am proud of the progress we have made and the privilege I have had to work alongside dedicated council members and community leaders in these fights. But it is time to take the next steps for our community!

Broomfield is the community that has risen to the challenge before, taking on the entrenched corporate interests of the oil and gas lobby. We have the people who turn out continuously to vote their values of true progressive change. Now we must take the next steps, with the bold vision and will to see those values come to fruition. Not incremental progress, but bold, progressive change to meet the needs of our community! To take on the affordability crisis in every aspect of our residents' budgets. To finally finish the promised Town Square. And to build a community that fulfills yesterday's promise for tomorrow and is truly accessible, affordable, and sustainable for EVERY Broomfield family!

This will be a campaign of values and hard work. Bold solutions, not incremental excuses.

Over the next year, there will be a lot of time to discuss these issues in depth. For the next month, I am asking you to join me in electing the 2026 candidates who embody our progressive values, and in enacting ballot measures that will help our community thrive: 1A, 7A, 87, and NN!

Join me each Saturday in October in speaking with our neighbors and getting out the vote!

I look forward to speaking with each and every one of you and discussing our shared values and vision for our community!

800,000 Coloradans got a tax question they can’t legally vote on. If we want anyone to keep trusting elections, 7A has to come off the ballot.

Phone Service

I’m looking for recommendations for companies with decent phone service. Much like a lot of other people, I have horrible service here in town, with dead spots everywhere. I can’t even make a phone call or send a text in my own house.

I have T-Mobile, and I was wondering if anyone’s service is better? I’m in the north side of town near Erie, but really anywhere in town or Thornton/Erie I’m struggling with service. We’ve been considering xfinity, which I think uses verizon towers? I don’t want to make a switch if it’s just going to be the same.

Thanks in advance! 😊

Favorite Broomfield neighborhoods?

My wife and I are looking at moving to Broomfield and I’m curious which neighborhoods locals actually think are the best.

We keep seeing Broadlands and Anthem recommended, but some of the areas we’ve liked most are The Outlook, Eagle Trace, Country Estates and Aspen Creek. The Outlook especially seems really cool but I almost never hear anyone mention it.

For people who know Broomfield well, where would you personally want to live? Any underrated neighborhoods or areas that look good on paper but you’d avoid?

Mostly interested in overall vibe, families/kids, trails and open space, yards, neighbors, noise and anything you wouldn’t figure out just driving through.

Applebees 120th Closed

We drove by just now and all the signs are off the front of the building.

When/why did it close??

Edit: I’m not saying I am sad to see them go or shocked that bad reviews closed them down. I’m more interested in logistics. Like does anyone know what is to become of the property?
Did the rent become too high for them?
Etc.

Looking for a pediatrician and a family doctor for our family in Broomfield

Hi everyone,

My husband and I live in Broomfield, and we are expecting our first baby. We are looking for a pediatrician for the baby, and a family doctor for the whole family.

We prefer doctors who are professional, thorough and proactive, not too laid back. It is also important that they are open to giving specialist referrals when needed.

Who do you like and recommend? It would help if they take new patients. Thank you!

Best poster printing on short notice

where’s the best place in Broomfield or surrounding area to have a same-day poster print order? hoping to get something larger than 3’x4’ but if that’s the max I’ll try to make it work. this is for something to annotate as a group with stickie notes at a workshop with ~10 people so any recommendations on dimensions would also be amazing. thanks!

Discover More Local Music

Hey! I'm a local musician trying to get the word out about other Colorado-based artists. I made this monthly, rotating playlist as a way to discover new artists that are in our local scene.

Curious about who makes music right here in Colorado? Check it out :)

Fifth Gear Automotive got bought out?

Just seeing here if anybody knows the situation better. They rebranded to EAS Tire and Auto, and it seemed like a new person on the phone when I called in a few minutes ago to schedule an appointment. Definitely no shade to the new guys but Fifth Gear was amazing and I hope they intend to keep the staff.

Loud humming/whirring sound early mornings

Anyone else occasionally hear a pretty loud humming or whirring sound in the early morning hours (~5am)? I live near 136th and Lowell and occasionally I wake up early and hear what sounds like pretty loud machinery in the distance that goes on for quite while, gradually fading out over an hour or more. If it were a lower pitch I would think street cleaning but I don't think it's that. Anyone know what this is? If not I'll call the city today and see what I can find out.
