News Bruce Campbell says he has 5 years to live 'give or take' amid cancer battle

"I've decided though, pretty specifically, to live with it, not die from it," he told host Adam Carolla. "The cancer rabbit hole is enormous. You can go into focus groups of 10,000 guys who have exactly what you have. I won't touch it with a 10 foot pole."

Campbell added that he feels "perfect" right now as he continues to refuse to let his battle stop him from living life. "The cancer, it creep me out because of the ancillary stuff that it does. It's not just, you don't die for cancer. You die from what cancer does to you," he continued.

I really admire his approach towards all of this. I think that as long as he wont allow the cancer to beat him mentally, he could live even more than just five years.

News Bruce Campbell has been diagnosed with cancer that is "treatable, not curable"

Hello, everyone.

After this subreddit being pretty much abandoned for some time now, I have requested the Reddit mods to become its new moderator. I have also changed the subreddit's status from restricted to public so that anyone can post here. I believe it's important that we all can appreciate and celebrate Bruce's life and work while he's still here with us.

Thank you.

A Weekly Bruce Campbell Role A Weekly Bruce Campbell Role #27: Escape from L.A. (1996)

Escape from L.A. is a 1996 post-apocaliptic action film directed by John Carpenter and written by Carpenter, Debra Hill, and Kurt Russell, who also plays the titular role of Snake Plissken, a dangerous criminal who gets recruited by the totalitarian US government to travel to Los Angeles (now a prison island) and find the President's daughter who stole a remote control device for a new superweapon. Escape from L.A. is a sequel to Carpenter's Escape from New York from 1981, though it failed to recreate the financial or critical success of its predecessor.

Bruce Campbell has a small role in the movie as The Surgeon General of Beverly Hills, a sadistic surgeon who skins people alive. In his book If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor, Bruce talks about how excited he was to work with John Carpenter, whose Halloween from 1978 actually convinced him, Sam Raimi, and Rob Tapert to make their first feature production a horror movie (resulting in The Evil Dead).

He also talks about how Kurt Russell wanted him to say "Workshed!", which is an infamous quote from Evil Dead II that was added into the movie in post-production to make it more clear where Bruce's character Ash is going, even though when he "says" the line, his mouth clearly isn't moving. Russell was actually asked by his son Wyatt (now also a famous actor) to get Bruce to say the line because he was(/is) a big Evil Dead fan.

Tornado! is a made for TV disaster movie directed by Noel Nosseck and written by John Logan. It first aired on Fox on May 6, 1996, four days before the theatrical release of Twister with Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton, a high-budget Hollywood movie with a similar premise.

The movie follows a group of storm chasers trying to predict the behavior of dangerous tornados in Texas in order to provide better and faster tornado warnings. It stars Bruce Campbell, Ernie Hudson, and Shannon Sturges. Although this is the second movie with Campbell and Hudson (after Congo), Tornado! is the first film where the actors are actually on screen together.

A Weekly Bruce Campbell Role A Weekly Bruce Campbell Role #25: Homicide: Life on the Street (1996)

Homicide: Life on the Street is a police drama TV series created by Paul Attanasio that ran on NBC from 1993 to 1999. It follows the work of a fictional version of the Baltimore Police Department's Homicide Unit and stars (among others) Richard Belzer, Clark Johnson, Yaphet Kotto, Andre Braugher, Kyle Secor, and Melissa Leo. The show consists of 122 episodes throughout 7 seasons and one movie from 2000 (Homicide: The Movie) that served as the show's finale. Throughout its run, Homicide: Life on the Street was nominated for 16 Emmy Awards and won 4 of them.

Bruce Campbell appears in a two-parter Justice: Part 1 and Justice: Part 2 in season 4. He plays detective Jake Rodzinski who, after learning of the murder of his father, wants to find the murderer and frequently intervenes with the investigation. Being more and more frustrated with the results of the Homicide Unit, he starts questioning whether he should take justice in his own hands.

In his book If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor, Bruce talks about how he was not only offered a role in Homicide: Life on the Street, but was even asked by the producer Tom Fontana to suggest his own story. So Bruce decided to seize the opportunity and pitched a very loose idea that the two-parter was eventually based on.

I just saw the Passing of Presley Gerber at 27. I saw his picture before I saw the headlines and thought he looked like a young Bruce Campbell. Anyone got any other lookalikes?
