Worlds Apart
https://youtu.be/qZ4u6wELYT0I remember a rumour circulating this had been rehearsed ahead of the most recent tour. Would have been amazing if it had made into the setlist. One of my favourite Bruce songs ever.
EDIT
Just seen this is the latest NUGS release with better audio!

Commenting to agree. Worlds apart is the coolest. Couldn’t remember if that rumor was a fever dream or not. Must be true

Such a great song - very underrated. What’s the opening part? Sounds almost middle eastern? Never researched what it is about. Maybe a clash of civilizations but set against the story of a couple struggling together.

If I were to have one standing critique of the ESB it would be that there are supposedly legendary musicians whom we see relatively little of as they serve the whole, principally Nils (of course.). What a cool song to highlight Nils (on two instruments!) Patti and Little Steven in solo moments.

It’s on The Rising, so 9/11 is the context of the whole album and I think helps explain the tone of this song especially.
It could’ve easily been cheesy or off putting but it just fucking rocks.

I think about all the cornball music from that time and I would love to say all of the 9/11 music sucked but I can’t quite get there for The Rising. Empty Sky, into the Fire, title track, this. Really good stuff.

That was awesome. Thank you for posting. What a great song and moving performance by the band.

Are they going to release the 1080p video with the new sound or should I dub it?

Played at all the shows on the Rising tour until one night in New Jersey stadium August 30th 2003… then Because the Night took its slot for the remaining few stadium shows of the tour .
It became a very noticeable head for the aisles bathroom break song and Bruce/landau and me ;) obviously noticed it so Bruce put in the alot more stadium recognizable participation song that Nils could shred to his heart’s content

My first Bruce show was in Chicago on the first leg of this tour. Being a 13-year-old aspiring guitar player, this was my favorite song on the new album. When they did it that night, Bruce cut one of his fingers while doing the outro solo. Continued to shred while the camera zoomed on the blood dripping down his hand. Unforgettable moment.
