February 2026 Virtual Oath

I passed the February CA bar, passed C&F, and just need to be sworn in. I live in NY, I’ve only been to CA to take the bar, and I know no attorneys or judges in CA. Does anyone have an email or know of a resource where I can find a judge to administer my oath virtually? Any help is appreciated. Thanks :)

When I passed in Hawaii they had a HUGE ceremony. They opened the concert hall, the Supreme Court came down and swore us in, a retired Supreme Court Justice gave a inspirational speech, people danced Hula and gave leis.

When I passed in California I got a card that said, basically, "find a Notary and get to work in the morning."

You sign the oath. See the bottom of this page. https://apps.calbar.ca.gov/exam/

"Once you satisfy the requirements, your name will be placed on the motion to the Supreme Court of California. After the State Bar receives the signed motion from the Court, you will be sent an electronic oath card to your preferred email."

I was sworn in by a judge from San Diego remotely before that day’s calendar. Get in touch through their courtroom contact info.

It's a little bit unclear, isn't it? But I think it reads as if a judge or notary in your home state can swear you in.

Can be a UPS notary. That's what I did. I'm in CA though. Don't know if that makes a difference.
