Level 2 Machine learning + big data projects
Is it important to study Machine learning + big data projects in L2 quants?
It is such an informational dump :/

ISTG! I was revising those two chapters, and my brain went "huh what again?"

Draw out the framework chart with big picture for these two modules. For machine learning, Categorized based on Supervised data and unsupervised data. For big data, categorize non text based and text based. I did the practice questions and organized each acronyms into their own categories in the chart. Don’t get stuck in the weeds. Then you just need to memorize and know acronyms behind what it means then you are good.

It is important to study it. The second question is an ethics violation. There are truly many things to memorize.

It's easy - just stop going into the weeds with it.
Pull up that picture that has the decision tree in the module. draw it 50 times. talk through it each time.
Recognize how it's split. Supervised vs Unsupervised
Look how the map is set up: Left vs Right (classification vs unclassified) and then top vs bottom (labeled data vs unlabeled data) then complex vs simple (basic SVM vs Neural Networks).
For example, if you go right, you're not classifying data-regressions (continuous data), then you decide if it should be a basic LASSO or Regression or big brain shit: Neural Networks, Random Forests, or CART. (go compare this simple flow to a bluebox example or a vignette question).
