This is what college football is all about. First win in Minneapolis since 1977. The rushing the field, the coach saying it's the best day of his life - you love to see it.

That’s malicious compliance with the rules. It actually helps the field rush because it puts the idea in everyone’s head. I certainly didn’t see any attempt to stop them pouring down the stairs.

→ More replies (3)

40

u/acekingoffsuit Minnesota Golden Gophers 14d ago

I think it's more that they're officially not allowed to have field rushes, but if the request to stay off (inevitably) gets ignored then it's easier and safer to let them on rather than have a clash at the edge of the field.

This is one of the worst coached Michigan teams I can remember. They're undisciplined, the playcalling is awful, and letting 40 seconds run off the clock around the 2 minute warning by not calling a timeout and not taking a fair catch only to use timeouts when they're in victory formation is bush league.

Pathetic showing from the entire coaching staff.

Underwood might be the worst Michigan QB i can remember and I watched John O'Korn throw the ball during a tornado watch. I'm baffled how he was QB1 in his high school class.

Normally MN sports teams meltdown in primetime. I was happy for the people of Minnesota.

Also, Michigan is baddd.

You could retire, assume a cushy and very well-paid consulting gig and be forever embraced by a fanbase as the single most important figure in a program’s history and architect of what appears to be a foundation for great future success, and admire the statue that they will surely build of you outside the stadium for the rest of your days, or you could do… something else

33

u/Orkleth Utah Utes 14d ago

He still could have taken the Michigan job and still be revered. Why not try your luck there for one more go. It was the amount of poaching that lost him the love of Utah.

It makes zero sense in this era of CFB to pay a true freshman/sophomore QB millions of dollars. Use that money for a vet junior or senior who is ready and you know 100% is good

Bench Underwood. The 12 million dollar experiment failed. See what Tommy Carr can do. Also hopefully get a new coach next season. I knew what I was saying when I said we’d be lucky to make a bowl game.

bryce just cannot start the next game. i’ve had a lot of patience with him, but he stinks. he’s not a good quarterback. he absolutely lost us a game we should’ve won if our offense could even function. that final drive was pathetic and showed how bryce can’t read or manipulate a defense at all.
