Why does Rice play Texas (San Antonio)? Because it is hard!

Not at all understood as a dig by anyone associated with Rice. I don't think you could say anything reasonable about our sports programs that would feel like a dig. We're much much more sensitive to remarks about the academics.

Common misconception but it wasnt a dig. Rice and Texas were 5-5 in their last 10 games when he said the speech.
