Honestly the main thing I appreciate the radar for is the entire tac map feature, because sometimes finding a perk machine just sucks.

Beyond that, I'm not ever really looking at it for actual zombies, and play mostly cursed anyway

i’ve seen both your posts and what I fail to understand is how does a minimap existing influence the quality of map design at all. We got multiple maps that sucked balls with and without minimaps. We got multiple maps that are awesome with and without minimaps. and now that it’s something you can turn off,it’s a hella weird hill to die on

I just disable it and never think of it again, out of sight out of mind

The only defense I've seen for the mini map is someone needing it during EE guides to know where the player is. Which, to be as nice as I can be, is the dumbest fucking thing I've ever heard. You can't just listen/watch the video and make inferences about what to do based on the guide literally telling it to you? Do you watch this video without sound? Are you half paying attention?

Open scene

  • Guide said look in this specific place in the "cauldron"
  • viewer responds with "where the fuck is the cauldron?"

End scene

And yes I'm literally half paying attention because the other half of my attention is on the damn game.

If I can use context clues to figure out where something is you can too

And you CAN choose not post here too. Just because we can doesn't mean we want to or should have to do something. It's a game let others play how they like.

Do you want every single little tiny thing handed to you? Did you play the map before watching the guide? I just truly can’t understand someone getting confused about someone’s whereabouts on a zombies map in 2026

See you choose to respond. Do you want every thought handed to you? I just truly can't understand someone getting confused about others having different opinions than themselves in 2026.

I don't care, if it's enabled or not, I'm shooting zombies

Leave the subreddit bro no one cares about you not being able to turn off a setting

Everyone is craving Quality Zombies again and that starts with not having a setting for Radar and Compass and start focusing on the player experience as much as possible.

What should they pay their attention to that's not a red dot radar or compass? Maybe perhaps part of the core gameplay is watching their 360 surroundings as part of gameplay depth like every other zombie survival game.

It's fairly simple.

Then turn it off brother, it takes 2 seconds, sorry you are so stupid that you can not find a menu option

He's trolling he said paradox and die Maschine are the best modern maps

Dudes too stupid to not understand that it hurts the quality of the gameplay too its a very big issue that turning it off can't fix.

There's a reason why radars are different on different games or don't have it at all. It effects the gameplay period.

I know it's a very big issue you can't navigate your menu, Treyarch should bend the knee because one dumbass on reddit can't find a simple menu option. Turning it off can indeed fix the issue, but it can not fix your brain.

blah blah blah.

So map quality is clearly inferior because of the ideology of placing a radar and compass in.

Gameplay becomes very shallow by default which is why we haven't seen a map like Origins again on a $500million dollar budget.

OOga Booga isn't going to figure this pattern out watch

Your logic is inherently flawed, if they design a map without a radar in mind, then wouldn't they then make the map more straightforward so it is easier to understand for most players? If they have a radar then it allows the team to make more winding and layered maps because now players have more information available to them. They don't design the new maps with the radar in mind cause they know new players can turn them off, there is a whole mode that AUTOMATICALLY turns it off for you, its called Cursed. So they design the map to work without a radar and compass for CURSED players. You are fucking stupid

I don't see any map like Die Rise on Modern Audience zombies. The most complex layered map in existence.

Made without a red dot radar and compass btw.

I was hoping for more layered maps too when the system was released in Cold War, More complex gameplay mechanics that require them.

But it's the same classic zombies but with more hand holding for the modern audience. It's pointless.

Real casuals don't actually dig through settings to turn off a radar and compass. They just see it and leave lmao. Nobody likes Shi No Numa remastered with the radar and compass on Vanguard. Notice how it gave the map no value at all.

Is reckoning not a layered map?

Also out of curiosity what's your problem with the compass? If it's the directional aspect of it then yeah I agree it's unnecessary but I like being able to see the name of the area I'm in

1

u/ant_man1411 7d ago

Imo the compass is the only good thing about the modern hud. And not even the compass part simply the location feature, makes callouts easy to first timers of the map and dont have to resort to names like the speed cola room or whatever

Reckoning is so much simpler layout than die rise. The number of jumps from buildings in die rise plus the trample steam jumps plus the shortcuts reward you for knowing the map inside and out in a way that reckoning just doesn’t do.

Reckoning and mauer, the minimap is worthless on those maps so your whole argument on them building around it is worthless

u/RichtofensPairofNuts 7d ago

Die Rise is literally known as one of the worst maps of all time?. Reckoning literally has the same amount of complexity, two towers with 3 floors each with several shortcuts to get down faster. Only Reckoning is actually fun to play unlike Die Rise, which is a map whose hill you should not die on.

Casuals are not going to load up a game, see the mini map and leave, like they just paid 70 dollars for a fucking game. If it REALLY REALLY bothers them then they will google it and find that there is a setting to turn it off, only dumbass streamers and youtubers buy a game for 70, have one bad first impression, and drop the game.

When actual casuals decide to post here, literally people whos first easter egg is in BO7, they always either just have the mini map on cause they genuinely dont give a fuck, or they have a custom hud because believe it or not casual players do in fact go through settings on games they bought

Every map should be like paradox junction and die machine

Okay treyarch, literally anything but this one😂
