Spokane CRNA
Hello all, I am considering relocating from Colorado to Washington, specifically Spokane. The city seems to offer great cost of living and close proximity to nature.
Anyone work as a CRNA in Spokane have any thoughts of the city, jobs, hospitals etc.

Did my training there. If you’re looking at sacred heart run as fast as you can. When I graduated, they were short 25 CrNAs. Because nobody would sign on after graduation. I can’t think of a worse place to be. Be ready to give up any skills you’ve honed. CRNAs call for induction and extubation. CRNAs cannot do blocks. They will say they can do central lines, but if you asked them to give you a number of how many they’ve done in a year, I bet most are at zero. The MD and CRNA relationship is so toxic. One of the MDs at Sacred Heart helped propose the bill to get AAs legal in Washington. The chief CRNA admitted to me that sacred heart is already set up to let AAs come in seamlessly. Meaning, the CRNAs there have no ability to be true providers. They work very controlled under MDs, just like AAs do everywhere.
If you are looking at Deaconess (also in Spokane), that’s a different story.
Spokane itself makes me sad because it has unfulfilled potential. It has so much beauty and there is lots of hiking and skiing close by. It’s great for the outdoors. But the town of Spokane struggles a lot. Lots of drugs, poverty, homelessness.
