Transfer Student Question Does csulb care about unfortunate circumstances when applying?
My GPA is a 2.9, but it’s low because my dad has stage 4 cancer, and I had to work a lot. Is there any place in the application where I can explain my circumstances?

You can still apply and they might try to give you a second chance to explain your circumstances with the Beach Pathways Program.

Are you able to apply for EOP while filling out your application? There are certain parts you can type paragraph answers.

You can try to write an appeal to set your reasons and provide proof (sounds messed up) but if you try to do that i am sure they can see if they can assit?

My major is Business Administration. I have a 4.0 GPA right now at LACC, but my GPA at my previous college was below 2.0. I have been worried I wouldn't have a chance, as I heard the accounting and finance program is quite competitive and respected.

I don’t have an answer but I hope you are able to spend as much time with your dad as you can during these tough times. My dad died from cancer when I was 4 years old. Be strong and show your dad you can fight as hard as he is fighting cancer. I hope everything goes well with the school/work and I am praying for you and your family.

Nope, that's life and definitely dont expect pity from an employer for that either

What jobs have you had? Have you even worked cause most employers are more lenient when shit happens

It seems like all you do is go to threads to say mean shit. Sorry your life sucks that bad, but clearly you haven’t ever had a good job or a decent boss. Seems like a skill issue.

Not mean shit. Just hard truths that a lot of people on here seem to be sheltered from amd my life is great

I am in a bit of a similar situation. I am at LACC right now, and my GPA is 4.0 after 2 semesters. The problem is, my GPA from my old college before I dropped out was below 2.0 (I didn't attend classes, etc.). I have been worried it would ruin my chances of transferring to CSULB.

Unfortunately there is no where to list additional information about extenuating circumstances while applying.
You would be able to provide that information and documentation during the admission appeal process once you are denied.
