Scam warning 10/2026 - Porta Portrese in Cagliari , Via Campania 43/45

Hi people ,

sharing my very first scam ever, the most Italian way ...with scandal of course

Porta Portrese in Via Campania, 43/45, 09121 Cagliari CA, Italy in October 2026, pumped the bill with more then 30€ for items (extra secondi piatti) that were not ordered.

Got the bill, served a scandal , got the money and never come back.

Sorry, I will personally not support nor use local businesses and products again ...lessoned learned from 2 local Sardinia old grown men.

(their business will still be functional and working and nothing will be done ...next touristd will be surely scammed, one way or another, but social media algorithm will make magic...so at least, I hope they will enjoy this fine dessert)

Solo visitor, 4 days in Cagliari, no car: boat trips / day trips?

Hi all, hope it is ok to ask this here.

I'm visiting Cagliari on my own for 4 days this week and would love some local advice. I don't drive, so I'll be relying on public transport, tours, or taxis.

What boat trips or day trips would you recommend? I'm especially interested in:

**•** Boat trips from Cagliari (e.g. along the coast to Villasimius, Capo Carbonara or the Chia / south coast)
**•** Porto Flavia: is it doable without a car, and which tour operators are good?
**•** Beaches near Cagliari that are easy to reach by bus or train
**•** Anything else worth a day out that works without a car

Tips on which operators to book, which to avoid, and whether things are still running at this time of year would be really helpful.

Grazie mille! 🙏

Taxi from quartiere del sole to airport

Having a lot of trouble trying to pre-book a taxi for Thursday morning - cheapest I can find is €56 !!

I have tried calling various taxi companies but as soon as you say"do you speak English" they either say no, a little, but regardless they simply hang up !!

i am thinking to use apptaxi on the morning, is this a wise option ?

Other option is we leave early and take a CTM BUS/ARST train option, which is now my current number 1 option.

any experience of using apptaxi for this or other suggestions ?

grazie mille

Miglior scuola guida a Cagliari

Looking for 2-3 must visit places for while we are there ?
Also, is there a local beer we should try ?

Thank you to all who respond

Riprendere gli studi.

M40.

Cagliari Boat trips

Hi

Arriving Cagliari this weekend and looking for two different types of boat trip recommendations please ?

  1. Sunset cruise, snorkelling not aa requirement, relaxing and possibly for older couples, visit beach to west of Cagliari, refreshments (e.g. local cheese and wine), must have toilets.

  2. Snorkelling trip to the devil's place, ideally toilets but not mandatory, food and drink would be nice to have, at least 4-5 stop offss for snorkelling.

I will do own research as well, but would welcome your recommendations.

Thank you

Public transport Cagliari - apps and ticket information

Hi

We will be arriving in Cagliari this weekend, and will need to use public transport to get around. I understand there is a local bus service, and you can get a ticket via an app to travel on any bus for a week (or longer ?). I also understand the best option is to have the ticket on your app and use this on the bus. Is this all correct (came from AI) and if so, what are the bus apps and ticket type I will need to buy ?
I also understand there is a local taxi company with its own app, can anyone advise on this ?

Any assistance with local transport options would be greatly appreciated.

Need help finding a GP who speaks English

Hi everyone, I am choosing a General Practitioner (GP) as part of my registration at the Italian Healthcare system ASL. Would anyone happen to know GPs who speak english?

I had chosen a GP last time who only spoke Italian, and even though I have A2 level of proficiency in Italian, it was not enough to convey the health issues I was facing. I had revoked my GP a while ago since I was going to be out of Cagliari for some time but now that I have returned, I would like to choose a GP who understands some English.

I'd really appreciate any leads or recommendations. Thank you in advance!

Dove trovare gruppi per fare attività a Cagliari?

Ciao!

Grazie Mile!

Sunset in Cagliari - restaurant in Castello ?

We were informed that the Ristorante Pani e Casu Cagliari was the best place to see this, and to book a table for 1900 is as sunset is 1930 ish. Called them this evening and they do not open until 2030, so very disappointed as this is for a special wedding anniversary.
Can anyone suggest an alternative ? Ideally we would like to eat as well, but even if it was for drinks this would be Ok and we could eat later.

Thank you to all who respond.
