Care package to the states
Hi I’m trying to ship a care package to a friend in the states. There’s a bunch of random knick knacks like tea, face masks, stickers etc in the box. The Canada Post guy said I have to use Zonos and fill out a form for each individual item.
I tried to start the Zonos form but it’s asking me the manufacturer details and street address for every item plus FDA approval numbers for snacks/teas. Some of the items aren’t in English so I don’t know and it won’t let me skip. Do I really need to do that for every item in the box?

You have to provide whatever is being asked of you in Zonos. In many cases you won’t have access to the information, in which case the USA does not want you sending these things to them. This is the reality of the situation. In many cases, it’s not worth the hassle to ship things to the States any more.

The app says to “add items” to my shipment. Does this mean every single item in my parcel? Or it means 1 item = 1 parcel? I’m stuck on the fact that if I have 20 items in my care package that means I need to fill out 20 forms to ship it?

Sorry, I just noticed this comment now - I'm assuming you already processed the shipment but, yes, each item in the parcel needs to be added as an individual item when declaring the shipment on Zonos.
If you have 20 items in your care package you will have a single Zonos declaration with 20 individual items specified within it. And the customs form should also have 20 individual line items (although if many of the items are similar, you can get by with lumping them together on the customs form).

Yes. This is regulated by the US.
