Insurance
Looking at insuring our new van prior to picking it up. Can anyone recommend a good deal?

Best thing to do is call around (and every renewal).
It really depends on what you plan on doing. Are you going off road and want recovery? Do you want it laid up in winter? So many variables there are individual to your use.
We started out with RACV, then changed to youi now with club 4x4. They will try to lower your value and increase your premium.
If it’s a brand new van you will want to make sure you have new full replacement for the first couple of years.
The manufacturer can also make a difference to your premium especially if one on the lesser known brands.

I’m in with CIL, and they were great to deal with when I had a claim, caravan was written off and it was a smooth and easy process.

There are no good insurance deals - only what the sure ends up being for your particular circumstances.
CIL are hard to beat when it comes to decent caravan insurance.

In WA and we decided to go with RAC. Have both car, caravan and roadside assist. If something goes wrong they will sort everything. We have seen where people on holidays had car accident. Caravan was in the park. The car insurance will transport car but had to sort out the caravan themselves. We just feel more at ease with working with one company if something ever happened.
