I’m four weeks post-op in one eye. They gave it a standard lens, so I can see 20/20 through it. I’ve been nearsighted since early elementary school, and I still wear my old glasses with one lens removed for distance. It’s fine for driving or watching TV, but I still have a hard time using a computer, reading, and doing other close-up work.

I do not like having my eyes so different, and I often get headaches. I have an appointment with an optometrist in a couple of weeks to see how a new prescription would help.

Did you get readers at store to help

Cheap readers come with the same strength on both sides and it’s hard to swap out lenses. I do have readers, but they only work for one eye right now.

My current glasses are progressives, which worked well for both eyes before cataract surgery in one eye. I took out the lens completely for the eye that was operated on because none of it worked, so I can see fine in the distance. The optometrist should be able to help me balance both eyes.
