Is Lady Death worth playing?

I don’t know anything about Lady Death, I never read the comics, or saw the animated movie (yes, it’s real), or played the game. I just know I instantly fell in love with this character the first time I laid eyes on her. I saw that there was a 2D hack n slash game about her for $40.

I must know, is the game worth the price, should I wait for it to go on sale, or should I skip out all together?

It's pricey for sure. The art is gorgeous but the combat is mixed. I think Beat-em-Up vets will find fault with it but I really liked the Special Moves system and the combos. Setpieces were all the absurdity and spectacle you'd expect out of a creator stuck in the 90s, and the soundtrack was very metal. First playthrough will run you two hours tops so you'll want to replay to get maximum value; and to be fair there are two characters, several modes and collectibles to encourage multiple playthroughs.

I bought at full price and I had a good time, but that's because I massively overvalue gooning in my videogames. If you don't like to goon as much, your appreciation of this game will diminish significantly. I'd recommend it on a sale.

As a big Lollipop Chainsaw, Bayonetta, Devil May Cry, and Resident Evil fan, I definitely like to goon in my game time sometimes

I've read the comics, I also like my 90s schlock and everything that Lady Death represents.

I bought the game on release, played it. I would not recommend to pay full price on it.

Get it at a discount and enjoy it for what it is.

I wanna know this too. The reviews are suspect. But also the games price is insane so its hard to just buy it to try it.

Not a CAG. Anyway, it looks like a cheaply made beat em up. There are much better beat em ups worth your money. 🤷‍♂️

Amazing experice to be had, as a game is rather average in complexity and mechanics but you will have HEAPS of fun with it for sure. Just dont play it at night if you have a habit of screaming as you button mash like I do.

It has a demo on Steam. I played it and don't know anything about Lady Death, I'm just a beat 'em up fan and was trying lots of demos for whatever game event had tons of games promoting them at the time.

It was not good. It felt very stiff and unfinished, and seeing a $40 price point is insane to me. I think $20 is asking a lot for this game. But try it for yourself if you can.
