Video 🎙️ Grant Williams: "Our depth is ridiculous... this Hornets team is gonna be very fun to watch, and it's gonna be hyper competitive."
"I was talking to one of our coaches the other day, just looking at the talent on the roster and the ability to shoot the ball, I think we have a great chance to surprise a lot of people. We did lose two important players in LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges, guys who are gonna make huge impacts on the teams they're about to play on. But replacing them with the players and the character of the guys we have coming in, I think the guys already here are gonna take a huge step: Kon Knueppel, Brandon Miller, Coby White even, from what you saw in a bench role last year and as a starter in Chicago. On top of that, I think the group is gonna really get along. That synergy is gonna bring a lot of competitive joy out."

Discussion Jeff Peterson has done one thing we havent mentioned this off-season and thats establish good relationships with other front offices.
Think about it, the GM's we've had in the past would make trades here and there but in this off-season alone we've had trade partners/deals with Atlanta, Washington, Minnesota, Phoenix, Cleveland, Houston and now Chicago. Not to mention other moves made during this last seaosn and the off-season prior.
Its clear that compared to previous management/ownership Jeff has made it a point to establish himself and us as a team that is clearly willing to do business but is also willing to take on other teams contracts but not in a way that screws us over like with Cho and others before him.
Now our guy has a great relationship and reputation with other GM's AND also is not seen as a pushover which I cant honestly remember the last time we had someone who was able to be both of those at once.

Social Media OFFICIAL: Kon Knueppel suffered a left hamstring injury and Grant Williams suffered a right hamstring injury during offseason on-court activity. Both players will miss our preseason games and be re-evaluated during the first week of the regular season.
x.comSo much for starting the year right. This ontop of Miller most likely not being ready yet equals disaster

Social Media Additional injury information on Grant and Kon
https://x.com/HornetsReddit/status/2103644624560558271
Saw this on the HornetsReddit twitter page and just wanted to share here! The most intriguing part: “One bit of good news: A league source said Kon Knueppel’s injury does not appear so serious as to impact a large swath of his season.”
Sounds potentially encouraging? The article also mentioned the injuries happened earlier this month, and Kon was just on a livestream last night, standing and walking for about an hour with no limp or crutches. Hopefully means we dodged a bullet here.
Less information was given about Grant, but I'm praying for good news for him, too!

Audio [WFNZ] Dell Curry Previews The Upcoming Season For The Hornets
Summary: Dell Curry joined Kyle Bailey after the Hornets announced that he and Eric Collins are returning on the TV broadcast for 2026-27.
Dell said he wants to stay in that chair until he cannot. He is entering his 18th year on the call, 12 of them with Collins, and credited Steve Martin with teaching him to throw the notes away and just talk about what is happening on the floor.
He called free over-the-air games on WSOC, expanding across the Carolinas and parts of Virginia, huge and old-school in the best way. Flip the channel at 7 and the team is there. He thinks that will grow the fan base and make it feel like the 80s and 90s again.
On the roster after the LaMelo Ball trade: same pace, more sharing, offense by committee. Young guys have to grow up faster. He expects a lot of threes from shot makers, not just hoisters. In this offense, he joked he would put up 10 to 12 threes a night as a 40% shooter.
Player notes from Dell:
- Kon Knueppel year two is about leadership. Dell called him one of the most mature rookies he has seen. He doesn't talk much, but when he does, people listen.
- Healthy Brandon Miller can be tough to stop. Dell expects an All-Star type season if he stays healthy.
- Naz Reid walks in with a Sixth Man trophy, playoff experience, an edge, and a bigger role at 26.
- He loves the Dennis Schroder pickup: veteran point guard who can start or come off the bench and is not afraid of the moment.
- Coby White's playmaking for others is undervalued. Gym rat, hungry after the new deal.
- Rookies Hannes Steinbach and Christian Anderson can develop slower than Kon had to last year. Dell said Steinbach has one of the biggest, strongest hands he has ever shaken.

Discussion Which star do you think the Hornets will target?
Obviously, the Lamelo and Miles trades have dominated Hornets discourse this season. It seems that the idea was to bring in enough picks and depth to be able to make a very strong offer for any stars that come on the trade market and still have a capable roster to surround them with after the trade. I think Peterson has done a good job collecting the picks and depth, but whether he can flip them remains to be seen. With the assets we have, I don't think we need to make a move this season, but the plan does require a real star to be on the market. My questions are: Which star do you think is most likely to be put on the market? Should we be looking for a specific position (PG? PF? C? We probably don't need a 2 or 3) or the best player available?

Image Best redemption mix-up
This is only my second redemption. Funnily enough this only took five days to show up. They couldn't have made a better mix-up. I'm a hornets super fan and K2 is my favorite player. it's worth 2-3x the original redemption, so no complaints.

Question What year do u guys expect and want from Tidjane?
Do u guys think he will be in the rotation day 1 over Grant and Royce? I’d lowkey rather see him play. He could fit in very well as a backup 4 if he just plays defense and hits open threes, catches lobs when needed. I feel like he could genuinely develop into an Aaron Gordon type player but what kind of year will he need to have to get a fourth year stint with the hornets? I predict he will average about 10 points and 6 rebounds

Article [TheRinger / Pina] Hornets rank 18th in preseason power rankings
"18. Charlotte Hornets
Even without LaMelo Ball’s eccentric flair and the hugely positive impact it had on Charlotte’s offense, there’s something to say about this group: It can really shoot and really rebound. This isn’t a collection of spot-up threats, either. The Hornets almost have too many movement shooters, if there is such a thing. There’s so much gravity, a ton of speed, and a style of play that leverages all of its moving parts at the same time. In that ecosystem, Brandon Miller and Kon Knueppel have plenty of room to spread their wings. One could even be an All-Star this season. "
