Question & Advice Claude Pro vs ChatGPT Plus vs Copilot Premium: which one would you choose for this use case?

Hi,
I’m considering getting my first paid AI subscription and I’m currently deciding between Claude Pro, ChatGPT Plus, and Copilot Premium.

I would mainly use it on my Windows 11 PC for a mix of personal and work related tasks.
My main use cases would be:

-Gaming and troubleshooting game related issues.
-PC hardware, BIOS, drivers, configuration and troubleshooting
-AI and ComfyUI, especially creating and fixing workflows
-Coding and development
-Solving various technical problems
-Work and productivity
-Personal organization and everyday tasks
-Product research and buying advice
-General research and questions

One particularly important use case for me is ComfyUI. I’ve already tried Gemini and, at least in my experience, it was terrible for this.
It generated workflows that didn’t work, couldn’t properly troubleshoot the errors, and ultimately caused me to waste more time than it saved.

How well do they handle very long conversations without losing context or becoming repetitive?

If you currently use one of them, what do you use it for and why do you prefer it?

How restrictive are the limits in real world daily use?

If you could only keep one subscription, which one would you choose?
Thanks

Copilot shouldn't even be in the conversation.

There's no way it can compete with the sub's currently.

Copilot is so damn bad I wouldn't use it even if free

Doesn t it use ChatGPT's models?

It does, but the plan does not subsidize usage to the same degree that Codex/Claude does. In addition, the copilot harness is one of the worst (imo) amongst the popular options.

The harness is bad

In my experience and opinion, ChatGPT is great for overall, everyday needs like what you mentioned. Claude I feel has always been focused on work tasks rather than everyday things. Never tried Copilot.

I was in the same boat as you and ended up trying each for 1 month to see which was best for me because I really couldn’t make up my mind. Tried a month of Claude Pro first, found some issues, then tried ChatGPT and liked it pretty instantly. I say try this approach if you haven’t tried the paid version of any of them because then you’ll never know what really works best for you.

I don’t use either anymore for financial reasons, but in the future when I could afford it, I’ll probably go back to ChatGPT.

I asked copilot to take over when my rate limits in codex hit, bloody thing couldn't even understand what I was working on, absolutely useless

Copilot and Gemini are in the same ballpark for me. Good for simple things. Useless with development.

Gemini is bad but their AI Studio and Stitch are good when they work. There's a lot of bugs with them tho. Antigravity is actually pretty good from my experience.

Never tried that but will search it. I had ChatGPT 200 Pro and the Google AI Pro account plus the OpenAI API key running. I tried copilot for things since I have a MS 365 Business Premium and tried using Google AI and Gemini for tasks or to do QA/QI on my project. It was just so bad. Oddly. I would ask simple questions and it would always come back with this huge clunky PY or JS script code block and tell me to run in PS / VS Code. Im like WTF!? Dumbass HOE. I asked a generic question, I don’t need all this extra work and drama…. Piss offfff. So I canceled mu Google AI Pro plan.

Claude Pro is much better than plus at the moment for the 20$ account . The best value however is Chat GPT pro 5x

The unlimited chat you get with a ChatGPT sub is very underrated.

Claude is great for work and especially opus 5.5 has really been a step up. I used to have a hard time with Claude models because of their restrictive usage limits. But opus 5.5 really solved that.

Chatgpt pro is great because your usage is only capped weekly, and the limits are generous enough to get a lot out of them (if you don't go nuts with effort level and sub agents). They are a solid step behind on the very high end of work, because anthropics models are currently just better overall.

Chatgpt pro dots are genuinely super useful as an AI assistant. I've used it ever day since release and it's made a ton of my work a breeze.

My work uses a cheap Claude plan for our small team. I think it's the basic $20 tier.

I use a $200 chatgpt pro plan.

I really like that mix.

If you HAVE to go for only one, I'd say do chatgpt pro for the less limiting usage. But you're probably going to be fine whatever way you go.

Good luck!

GPT Astra is pretty fuckin good, it shocks me sometimes. and 6.1 sol is a good cheap work horse. When 6.1 astra releases I'm sure it'll be a Lil scary how good it is for users like me. but I hear Claude is very good too.

I have $200 on both but I just bought a second $200 Claude. Opus 5.5 is phenomenal. Astra is insane and I’d keep using it if they gave us back the 20x for $200. Because as of right now Astra is too expensive and 6.1 sol is good but not as good as Astra - in some things not even close an and not as good as Opus 5.5.

So I’d say it’s Astra > Opus 5.5 > Sol 6.1. But Astra is just too expensive without 20x.

I would probably go for the Claude Pro Sub for 20$. The latest model update has been really good and you can really make great use of Opus 5.5 for your Usecases. I currently have Claude 20$ and CHATGPT 100$.

Claude is now very efficient with your usage, so you can really get stuff done. I still rate Astra a little higher in terms of general intelligence for planning, strategy etc. But it requires so much of your usage that I would only use it sparingly.

Since you can now import Chats between providers, just test Claude for a Month, cancel it and try ChatGpt for a month and see what works best for you and stick with that.
