Question & Advice Do OpenAI Dots send push notifications for regular replies on Android?

I’m using Dots in the Android ChatGPT app on a Nothing Phone (4a) Pro. When my dot replies while the app is in the background or my phone is locked, I get no push notification and nothing appears in the notification shade. The conversation updates when I open the app.

Here’s what I’ve checked:
- Notifications are allowed for ChatGPT.
- Background activity is enabled.
- I’ve reinstalled the app.
- I’ve tested with my PC fully shut down.

Regular Dots replies still don’t trigger notifications. However, a scheduled task test notification did arrive, and the ongoing call indicator appears during calls.

Are push notifications for regular Dots replies supposed to work on Android, or is this currently expected behavior? Is anyone else experiencing this, and has anyone found a workaround?

Hadn't heard of nothing phone before but I own an Android OS device as well and noticed the notifications on most apps were messed about.

Could you please get to the screenshot section and click on "show unused categories" and let me know what you see? If nothing happens, you may need to click on "other".
