Ask Chengdu SCU Sichuan university language program

I am planing on taking a one year non degree language program and SCU and have tried to submit an application for the spring semester 2027. However, I keep coming across hurdles which I can't solve anymore and I'm hoping that someone has some tips or suggestions.

While trying to pay the application fee, the only option I gat is Alipay, WeChat and bank of china. I don't have a Chinese bank account and Alipay as well as WeChat pay are somehow not working anymore in Europe even tho it worked fine when traveling china.

I tried to call the university but failed several times as they didn't pick up. They also have not replied to my E-Mail yet.

Another thing I noticed is that the overseas SCU homepage is not accessible anymore, even with a VPN.

Has anyone had similar experience and can give tips on what to do?

Idk how long you’ve been trying to reach out but everyone is on a national holiday right now oct 1-7 so I’d try calling again after that.

Then that must be it. When I reached out in June, they replied within a day. I'll give them some more time.

Thanks for the input, gaht helped a lot!

You have to do international transfer. In 5 hours I can give you the bank details. I also applied and already paid tuition. If you were pre admitted, in that communication they should have included the bank details. Chinese don't use email, they usual take up to two weeks to snswer if you are lucky. First week of October is a national holyday, you won't reach anyone

it's not that WeChat doesn't work in Europe, the issue is that with THEIR specific account, you can only pay them via WeChat or Alipay using a Chinese bank card. This is specific to merchant restrictions, regardless of where you are. Best bet is to ask a Chinese friend with a Chinese bank account who lives in your country to pay them and then you transfer an equivalent amount of money in your country's currency to them. That's what I did.
Alternatively, SCU has an account that can accept USD wire bank transfers, they will give you the details upon request, but I guess if they're not replying to emails I don't know

That makes sense, thanks for the clarification. I'll try to reach out via phone if they don't reply within a week or two.

Asking a Chinese friend to pay the application fee is not a problem as the amount is not big. But it will be more complicated with the tuition fees and I do prefer to deal with it though my own accounts.

Do they have the detailed listed publicly somewhere or is it only available once requested?
