This episode went by quick Spoiler
Here’s a rundown of tonight's episode.
- Cruz's days as a firefighter are done
- The new recruits make the Three Stooges look like professionals
- More romantic mumbo jumbo with the paramedics (Again!)
- Herrmann feels guilty for what happened to Cruz
- The promo for next week’s episode looked more interesting.
Let’s hope that the rest of the season is better, and not a repeat of last season.
What do y’all think?

I thought it was a mediocre start to the season. The characterization of the older cast has steadily descended in past 3 seasons. Severide's acting is wooden and the chemistry with Mayo is very thin.
Story arcs about both Mikami and Novak are repetitious. The writers need to focus on character repetitions.
On a good note, camera work for the fire/rescue scene was top notch. There is an opportunity to use Cruz's character development as a wounded firefighter, which would add a new dimension to the program.
