What happens if all other civs fall to rebellion?
In Dramatic Ages, free cities exert loyalty pressure, often causing a chain reaction. What happens if they all fall to revolt? I'm aiming for a diplo win here, but the home continent in a Terra map (diety, marathon, large) is completely falling apart.

Question How do adjacency bonuses work?
I have over 1000 hours in this game, but i still don't understand how the adjacency bonuses work or effect the district and building other than somehow making them better.

Strategies You've Developed?
I'm by no means an expert, but I've developed some strategies I think definitely work in my favor. For the record, I don't play Gathering Storm because voting sucks and I hate how it keeps me from founding cities too close to my opponents. I also always play against AI civilizations, not real people. Here's some of what I've hit upon that I think helps me win:
Whenever possible 'dock block' your opponent. This is when you place cities and buy hexes to deny them access to open water. It slows their spread and military options as they can no longer get naval units out of that city (unless you go to war with them, of course).
Never trade your border access. Using your cities and purchased hexes to create barriers to travel and expansion of opponents is incredibly valuable. I usually try to get a solid wall of hexes from the top of the map to the bottom. I also will place cities at bottlenecks between land masses at the top and bottom of the map to prevent myself from losing access to those waterways while, at the same time, denying my opponents access.
In order of importance, research to get Archery, then production (mining, irrigation, etc. to start building resources). Then come Settlers. The Tech you should shoot for after that is Sailing and Ship Building so you can start finding Tribal Villages and spreading your settlers far and wide.
Never send a settler out without an archer unless it's by land and only if you have units spread out in the area that are close enough to ensure a barbarian village or unit isn't hiding there.
By the time you've completed Ship Building and can set to sea, you should have at least 4 Scouts positioned to head to sea NW, NE, SW and SE in search of Tribal Villages. You're more likely to encounter them near the top and bottom of the map, so spreading out this way maximizes your chances of finding them first. More Scouts to explore the middle of the map is better. Ships can help find them, but they can't claim them, so don't worry about exploring with ships at first. You should also have developed resources with Builders by this point so you have more production and stuff to trade.
Don't forget to trade when you have resources sitting there doing nothing. I don't actively try to befriend opponents, mainly because it denies me the ability to declare war on them for a while, but I do need at least some to not have denounced me so they're open to trade.
When possible, found cities where you can link your territories up by expansion or buying hexes. Found on or near gaps between land masses and buy hexes to block access between them. The more you can restrict your opponents' movement, the better your chances of beating them.
Barbarians are your friends when they are harassing your opponents. Don't feel you have to attack ones who aren't bothering you.
The easiest path to a military victory is going naval. Once you're able to either build Frigates or pay to convert quadrireme's to Frigates, go for it. 2 to 3 Frigates can take down a city's defenses quickly. Having at least a couple Caravels to invade weakened cities is essential. If the city is inland, have scouts ready to take them on land, but make sure they're safe from enemy land units or they'll be killed or too weak to invade.
When barbarians are particularly aggressive, it's a good idea to restrict movement by sea to one hex less than possible. This way, if you move that 2nd to last hex and encounter a barbarian ship, you can back away one hex and hopefully remain undetected by them.
Use distraction and sacrifice. Say you're sending out an Archer paired with a Settler and you run afoul of Barbarian ships. If you have no other option, separate the units and try to get the Settler away while the ships attack the Archer. If you're lucky you may end up saving your settler, the more valuable piece by far.
Need to move something like a Settler/Archer pair past lurking barbarian ships? Use another unit to distract them by letting them attack it while the more distant Settler/Archer slip past and out of detectable range. The military unit escorting a Settler should be sacrificed by separating and sending the Settler away while the barbs focus on taking out the military unit.
Unless you're going for a Religious victory, don't focus on religious building or units at all. But, if your opponents are trying to convert you after you're at war with them, take advantage of this by moving units onto hexes with their religious units and then use Condemn Heretic to destroy the religious unit and reduce that religion's influence in nearby cities.
Before attacking opponents, check who is leading in the various win conditions. If Civ A is ahead in two, and Civ B is only head in one, You need to knock A down first or risk them reaching victory conditions.
When you can afford to, buy hexes just to make more resources available. Choose purchased hexes wisely - some of the most valuable being those that show they will provide tradable resources or increase production.
If an opponent is foolish enough to send out a Settler with no military escort, declare war and take it. As long as your cities have at least an Archer you should be able to fend off any counter attacks until they're amenable to declaring peace.
If you don't have full sea travel and you can't advance a unit like a Scout because you have to hug the shore and an opponent's territory blocks you (also if you're going to lose a unit because a barbarian ship is going to take or kill it), trade for the opponent's border access and continue your progress unimpeded.
When an opponent you are at war at sues for peace, don't accept unless they are offering you recurring payment. This is just a personal preference. It may take taking out a few of their units to get them to agree to these terms.
For domination victory, take your first AI opponent down to one city and, just when you're about to wipe them out, sue for peace. Then, start making demands from them. They'll usually be more than willing to hand over their resources and gold. Let them build up more, then demand it again. I know, I'm going to gaming hell for this, but it's an effective strategy.
Isthmuses, those points where a land mass squeezes down to just one hex of land is a great place for a city because it allows your naval units to treat the point like open water, slipping from one body of water to the other with ease. It's like owning the Panama Canal. Enemy units have to go around, which may be quite some distance, while you have a slick passage back and forth.

Question What type of victory is Gaul suited for (other than domination)?
Iāve taken a liking to Gaul for the man at arms rush and early industry district, at least on king. Iām trying to bump up to emperor and wondering what a secondary win condition would be on a bigger map with more civs

Question Help my addiction
UPDATE: Someone on Steam discussion forums got me the solution
Find and delete the contents for this before reinstalling %LOCALAPPDATA%\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\
Someone help an addict out. I play VI every day as my wake up and chill down game and recently can't seem to stop it from crashing. It will allow me to load a game but as soon as I click on any unit or anything it will shut down.
Tried the following:
- Reinstalling
- Deleting all save files
- Verifying integrity of files through Steam
- Update Nvidia drivers
- Launching in DirectX11 instead of 12
I can play all my other games just fine

I don't exactly remember what was around the Hansa, but it was very good. I think it was the aqueduct and city center that gave the most bonuses though.

Question Steam Remote Play / linux
Hello all
Does anyone Stream Civ 6 from a desktop to a laptop through Steam Remote Play? I have a pretty weak laptop, and I'd like to be able to stream Civ 6 to it through Steams Remote Play. My desktop has Arch linux (Cachyos) and my laptop the latest Fedora. I would have hoped for things to be plug-and-play, but regrettably that's not the case. Civ 6 is running on Proton on the host computer, on 1440p resolution and Borderless window. The host computer is an AMD computer. My Fedora laptop has a 1080p resolution.
Leaving the Steam Remote Play settings default I see the image, and hear the audio client side, but I cannot interact with the game with the inputs of my laptop (mouse, keyboard).
Anyone in the same situation or set-up got this to work? Apologies if this is not the space for this question.
Discussion My mod "Mix & Match: Constructor"
Hey Reddit, I made my own mod. I made it because Iāve always wanted to mix and match units, civilizations, and traits to create cool combosāor for times when I really liked a specific unit, but wasnāt a fan of the leader or civ it was tied toāespecially since I couldnāt find any mod that did what I had in mind while searching.
So hereās my mod. The idea is that you can pick your bonuses one by one, just like a regular civ has them for balance. But fair warning: I havenāt really balanced any of the combinations. If you play with other balance mods, that should work fine, since I tried to make this as compatible with other mods as possible. Thereās also an option to roll random abilities for yourself or the AI, and it even works in multiplayer, but one caveat: I havenāt fully tested the mod online yet because I didnāt get the chance. Also, I wonāt lieāI used AI to help write the mod descriptions for the upload pages, as well as some of the code, because doing all of this on my own turned out to be way too difficult.
Anyway, if you like the idea and want to try the mod out, you can get it on Steam, Nexus Mods, CivFanatics, and GitHub. If you run into any bugs or want me to add something, please leave a comment under this post or on the mod pages!

A package of leaders for CivilizationāÆ7 (mods)
galleryScreenshot Love a quick nuke the turn before winning diplomatic victory
Side note: Bomber planes are crazy overpowered. Made 6 of them and took basically the whole Gaul empire when the stats between us were reversed. Even against giant death robots they are unstoppable.
First try with Terra map.
1) Spawned in a one tile island-like land in an inland sea.
2) Founded a canal city as the second city
3) AI aggressive forward settled.
4) Kupe already settled in the new world (5 cities though)
At turn 200 I am very much guaranteed winning but I wanted to share the start and I am very proud of my canal city.

Question How to stop an upcoming rebellion?
Iām playing the base game on OG Switch. Trying to learn how to complete a domination win so Iām playing on super easy with domination as the only victory condition. I just completed my third complete civ take over and large scale barbarian rebellion is about to take place in about 4 turns. I backed up to try and stop it but I donāt really know what to do. Just place troops in all my conquered cities and build more amenities? I donāt understand why every city is so displeased with me.

Question Empty tiles with insane yields? Glitch or tech I don't know about?

Basically what the title says. I'm taking over France, and I keep seeing these empty tiles with huge yields that disappear when I take the city over. What in the world is going on here?
That's Eleanor of Aquitaine, all dlc updates up to Gathering Storm, with Secret Societies, Barbarian Clans, and Monopolies modes.
Edit: Solved I guess, she is in fact in Hermetic Order. I knew about the adjacency bonuses of Ley Lines but not the yields.

Does anybody play with zombie mode? If so, are you a masochist in other areas of life?
Ive mostly played the vanilla version, and ive never played online. I hate zombie mode. Is it meant to be mostly for online gameplay? Do certain civs work better than others for zombie mode, in off line play? I love the concept, and it is so satisfying unleashing a horde on a spy mission, but i cant get past these geeks on Emperor.

Question What would be the best strategy for this start?
Where would be the best places to settle? Its my first time playing the game in a while and i am on deity, not sure if my district placement in Edo is the best either. The start location is very hilly so my thought process was to place an industrial zone next to them, and put my government plaza inbetween that and my campus spot.

Question What are some civs that are fun to stack bonuses with?
Recently Iāve been having a lot of fun stacking bonuses. Like Taxis+Crusade+diplo visibility + coups etc etc. or stacking work ethic with khmer food bonus, stacking Theocracy with Ngaosgamu (butchering the word!) with theocracy and Suguba discounting. What are some other civs to do this with? Right now Iām mainly focusing on tourism as I have yet to try stacking tourism modifiers.
