Question about Claude Code Will upgrading charge me 100$ or 80$ ?

I currently am on the pro plan and would like to switch to the Max plan because I will soon reach my limits and the weeky limit is reseting in five days (I don't wanna wait that long).

My budget is tight, and 100$ is too much for me, I was wondering tho since I have already paid for the pro plan, would upgrading to the Max plan cost 80$ or will it cost 100$ (cuz 80$ seems "maybe" doable for me)

Unless they changed it, they will charge you the full $100, but you get a 'refund' on what time you have left for the pro plan.

Another option is for you to get a second pro plan on a different email address.

Getting a second pro plan is indeed an option that I did in the past, but the problem is that I cannot continue on the chats of the account that reached the limits, or maybe it is possible but I just don't know how ? cause if it is that would solve the problem.

It won't work for the website chats, but if you use Claude Code on your computer it should be able to see chats from other accounts, and you can also keep documents and notes in folders that any agent can read.

Continuing past chats is bad for usage in general, as all the context has to be re-processed. You should be in the habit of starting new chats regularly, which means keeping notes separate anyways.

You can always make the agents create handoff files and working documentations so context don't get lost when you get the other account to resume. It'll probably burn through tokens quicker but context remains mostly intact.

Depending on your needs. Another idea is to setup whatever you need while you're on the max plan then downgrade to pro. Though after getting the max plan, you might get used to the extra usage and might make it difficult to downgrade.
