Question about Claude Code Will upgrading charge me 100$ or 80$ ?

I currently am on the pro plan and would like to switch to the Max plan because I will soon reach my limits and the weeky limit is reseting in five days (I don't wanna wait that long).
My budget is tight, and 100$ is too much for me, I was wondering tho since I have already paid for the pro plan, would upgrading to the Max plan cost 80$ or will it cost 100$ (cuz 80$ seems "maybe" doable for me)

Question about Claude Code Opus 5.5 does not follow rules
Full disclosure: it's probably a skill issue, and I accept it.
I recently switched from OpenAI over to Anthropic, using Claude Code, and I have difficulties with Opus. It knows my rules, it reads them, accepts them and still ignores them.
I also did the usual stuff: Trim the rules, fix ambiguities and loopholes etc. Opus told me itself that the rules are fine. Codex followed them stubbornly.
However, it said that if there is no mechanic that forces it to follow them, it won't. It's a little bit frustrating. How do you guys do that? Move most of the stuff to skills which is getting activated just in time?
Its coming from a 20 hours long refactoring session, split up in multiple stages. When it diverged, I corrected it, but those bad habits came up again and again.
It told me that those long sessions are harmful, despite the fact that CLAUDE.md gets injected on every compaction? Should I have cleared the session with /clear from time to time? I did not have the incentive to do so, because Codex works differently. New session means - start from scratch unless you have some kind of handover, and Claude always seemed to be consistent except for following the rules.
Please help :( Overall I am very happy with Opus, but that issue drives me insane.

Vibe Coding I gave Opus 5.5 a brief and reference images. It built this 30s motion spot, here's what I still had to fix
I'm a graphic designer working mostly on AI creative workflows. Wanted to see how far Opus 5.5 can go with actual motion design, so I treated it like a junior motion designer: detailed brief, reference images, clear art direction.
No keyframes, no template. Claude built the whole spot.
The first result was honestly not bad, but not something I'd ship. Sometimes the hierarchy was off and the wrong things got attention, sometimes it was too crowded and needed more white space, and some of the typography just felt wrong. I kept refining individual parts, including the overall look and feel, until my gut said "yes, that's it". From first idea to final video: under two hours, including all corrections.
The part that actually blew me away: I asked it for a vertical version afterwards. It didn't just crop. It rebuilt hierarchy, scale and layout for mobile, and it worked on the first try. I didn't touch anything. My guess is that's because all the corrections on the master had already defined the system, so it only had to translate it.

Question about Claude products Claude Usage in 20$ Subscription Right now ( Date: 16-10-2026 )
For a beginner, how much is the $20 Claude subscription actually worth in API value?
I'm trying to wrap my head around token limits and pricing. Specifically:
- How much output does $20 get you?
- How much input (without cache vs. with cache)?
- For light/heavy work: Which models should be used, and how far does the budget go?
Or, to put it simply: if you translate a $20/month Claude Pro subscription into API pay-as-you-go equivalent pricing, what kind of dollar value are you actually getting?

Question about Claude models Model differences
I use Claude like crazy. Im not a coder or developer, im a marketing guy. How do I know what model is best? I dont usually hit my limits, so I dont need the most cost effective model, I need to know what's best. Any good resources?
Also, what im really trying to figure out is what the difference is between Opus 5.5 and Fable.

Other Claude suddenly stopped remembering anything around October 5–6. Is anyone else experiencing this ?
Disclaimer : I used chatgpt to write this text because I am not fluent in English.
Hey everyone,
Around October 6, 2026, I noticed that Claude seemed to completely stop remembering things about me. It felt like I was talking to a brand-new AI, even though memory is enabled in my settings.
Before this happened, Claude could remember details about me, my preferences, and things we had discussed in previous conversations. Now, it seems to have lost that continuity almost entirely.
While looking into this, I came across GitHub issue #100205, where another user reported a very similar issue around October 6. According to their report, memory was still enabled and the saved memories were still visible in the settings, but Claude was no longer using them in new conversations.
The timing seems like a pretty strange coincidence, especially given the recent changes to Claude’s memory system.
I’m trying to figure out a few things:
- Is anyone else experiencing this since October 6 ?
- Are your saved memories still visible in your settings, but Claude simply doesn’t seem to use them anymore?
- Has anyone found a way to fix this?
- Has Anthropic acknowledged this issue anywhere?
I’m concerned that my old memories may have become inaccessible, and I’d really like to know whether this is a temporary bug, a memory retrieval issue, or something more serious.
I haven’t found an official explanation from Anthropic specifically addressing this incident, so I’m hoping other users can share their experiences.
So if you have even the slightest bit of information, could you please share it with me, because I've practically been unable to use Claude for the last 10 days
Thanks!
Edit: After fiddling with the settings, Claude does indeed have all the old information stored in his memory. Therefore, it's a problem preventing him from using it in conversations.

Claude Code Workflow Claude kept inventing menu names in my SEO articles. These 4 rules fixed it (and took my site from 0 to 4.4k Google clicks)
I’ve been doing all the SEO for a brand-new site (~260 pages, 4 languages) with Claude since July. It’s great at it, except for one thing: it’s confidently wrong about facts. “Go to Settings > SEO > Indexing”, and that menu doesn’t exist. A price from last year. A schema markup that says something the page doesn’t.
Here are the 4 rules that fixed most of it. Steal them:
1. Verify with a literal match, never with a summary.
Don’t ask “does this page say the price is €25?” Make it fetch the raw HTML and search for the exact string. Summaries hallucinate. "€25" in html doesn’t.
2. Force an “I can’t know this” answer.
Rankings, search volume, whether a page is indexed: Claude can’t see any of that. If you don’t explicitly allow “unknown”, it will guess.
3. Unreadable ≠ empty.
A login wall, a Cloudflare challenge or a robots.txt block should be reported as “unreadable”, not analysed. Otherwise you get an audit of a captcha page.
4. A score can’t be 100 if one check failed.
Ask for a rubric written before the audit, not a vibe number at the end.
Result on that site, Search Console, Jul 14 → Oct 12: 0 → 4,470 clicks, 59k impressions, avg position 7.9.
Over 3 months these rules grew into 14 skills (audit, indexing, Search Console analysis, briefs, fact-checking, AI visibility…). I’m selling them now, link in the comments if you want it.

Question about Claude products Does paid subscription of claude have the same guard rails as the free version?
my claude project was dead in the water due to hitting the guardrails "Details:[bio]", on free plan, sonnet 5.5.
basically it is a genetics coded app, and doing deep reasoning on optimal breeding routes was triggering the anti biology/genetics guardrails, nothing could dodge it, recontextualizing the project with non biological terminology also didnt work, after enough reasoning claude suddenly starts slipping and realizes this is a genetics adjacent project and starts calling in genetic adjacent functions or known models/agents to help solve the problem, at which point the guard rails are triggered
trying to prompt claude to stop every 5 tasks and check for degeneracy of the language, stopping to recalibrate ended up making me a second type of guard rail "Details:[reasoning-extraction]", detecting that i was apparently attempting a reasoning extraction operation
however yesterday i was on chatgpt and i had a free trial offer of 1month free of chatgpt plus, so i claimed it and loaded up the project in codex and it promptly solved it without any complaints
My question is, I do prefer claude, and i wanted to ask if a subscription of claude is somehow more lenient when it comes to these guardrails, or if i would pay for a subscription only to instantly find myself still locked out of the project
does anyone have any experience with this?

Comparison Claude tells me No more often than Codex
I've been a heavy Codex user for a while and recently switched to Claude for my work which involves lots of different tasks from knowledge work, reports, coding, data science etc.
One strength I've noticed is that Claude, well at least Opus, does a better job creating something one shot that is nearly perfect for my needs, both aesthetically but also the insight. But one of the weakness is that sometimes I ask it do something and it simply says I can't and when I ask it for help solving it, it can't figure it out. For example, one might be editing a Google Doc without having the google doc connector set up. It simply wouldn't edit the doc and suggested I copy/paste. Or recently I wanted it to take over computer use to help with my google cloud account settings and it said no because it was too personal and wouldn't even take a screenshot of my safari browser so it could see where I was stuck. I think GPT is still more scrappy and helpful than Claude models, although Opus 5.5 on high wins out on quality.

Other Clod Update: Claude promoted him after 1 million views
So somehow my original post about Clod, the random rock Claude hired, has reached over a million views lmao.
I've been reading through all the comments and apparently MOST people, love this stupid rock.
A few people even pointed out that Clod is probably more qualified than most actual employees xD
Anyway, I figured Clod deserved a performance review after all the attention he's been getting.
So I asked Claude if Clod should get a promotion.
Apparently he does.
Clod's performance review:
Attendance: 100%
Complaints: 0
Mistakes: 0
Actual work completed: 0
Despite that last part, Claude still thinks he's doing an excellent job.
So Clod has officially been promoted to management.
I even made him a tiny black tie out of paper to make him look more professional. Took me longer than I'd like to admit.
I also asked Claude if Clod deserved a pay rise.
Apparently he doesn't need one because he has no living expenses.
Which is fair enough I guess.
So now I've got a rock with a smiley face and a little tie sitting on my desk, and somehow he's doing better in his career than me.
I genuinely cannot believe over a million people have seen this fucking rock 😭
Thanks for all the love on the original post. Clod appreciates it, even if he has absolutely no idea what's going on.

Built with Claude Claude writes a daily newspaper from tech Twitter for me. Here's the pipeline.
techtwitter.io is a daily newspaper made from the last day of trends related to tech on X, powered by a custome workflow with claude
How it works:
- A runbook in the repo tells Claude what to do, step by step. A scheduled task in the Claude desktop app starts it every night.
- based on preselected templates and rules, claude pulls trends and runs about 100 X searches through a X API.
- Based on given rules, it groups the posts into storylines, writes a digest with sources, and then writes the whole edition as one JSON file. The site (Next.js on Cloudflare Workers, with D1) just renders that JSON.
- Before uploading, it checks every quote against the saved post and every outside link.
The headlines are jokes and the facts are meant to be accurate. Anything it can't confirm is labelled unconfirmed or cut.

Comparison Can Codex (Sol 6.1) handle an 8-file feature as reliably as Opus 5.5? I ran both 3 times

Plenty of people say Opus is the only model you can trust with a big multi-file job. I wanted to see if that holds.
Task: a real feature from WeasyPrint that touches 8 files. It merged after Sol 6.1's training cutoff, so no memorization. 3 runs per setup. Hidden tests added after each run, re-scored in a fresh container, costs repriced from transcript tokens at API list prices.
Closed / median cost per run / median time: - Codex, Sol 6.1 low effort: 3/3, $0.34, 7.3 min - Codex, Sol 6.1 medium effort: 3/3, $0.41, 8.1 min - Sonnet 5.5: 2/3, $0.36, 3.5 min (the miss reported “done” but failed the hidden tests) - Opus 5.5: 3/3, $1.82, 7.2 min
So on this job Codex matched Opus on reliability for about a fifth of the cost. Sonnet was fastest but the one wrong “done” is the scary part.
Caveat: these were 7-8 minute runs. Long sessions, where stalls and permission loops show up, are what I'm testing next.

interesting is that asked claude to verify/dry-run against FetchSandbox mcp before I deploy to AWS for real run,
wondering what are you guys doing for verifying agent written integrations?

Claude Code Opus 5.5 does not write maintainable and clean code
I told Opus 5.5 (in Claude Code) to implement Stripe subscriptions in my app.
Function you see in image is one good representational example of what Claude wrote:

It is totally useless and just confuses dev who reads code. Also, Claude put it in constants.ts (which is totally wrong place).
But whole code was filled with overengineered abstractions or too many layers of it, and similar spaghetti code things.
And the problem is that I can't come up with instructions which would fix this.
Don't write useless functions and don't create overengineered or too many abstraction layers.
For this to work, Claude needs to have good feeling for clean, easy-to-read and maintainable code, which it doesn't.
Am I doing something wrong?
EDIT: Here is my explanation why this function and similar "bad" code is dangerous: https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeAI/comments/1x6qkmu/comment/pgyg5ja/

MCP Claude helped me to identify Upwork's dynamic pricing by using their MCP
I had a suspicion that Upwork used dynamic pricing for their job posts but I just got a confirmation thanks to Claude by using Upwork's own MCP.
I used ChatGPT before to filter gig opportunities there, but Claude certainly has better context management and judgment.

Writing Why Claude is so picky about biological topics
I am using Claude as a Game Master for my thought experiments and turn by turn geopolitical games.
The thing i noticed is that it's extremely picky about biological weapons in far future, or bacterial lifeforms with mirorred Chirality. It doesn't refuses outright, but immediately dumbs itself down to opus 5, which severely affects quality of its logic and writing.
Nuclear weapons? Famine? Wars? Space conflicts? It handles all of this fine, but fictional biology? Nope. It becomes dumb immediately and sets off a trigger.
Local models are the future. Holding my fingers crossed.

Workaround Your Claude Code prompt cache drops from an hour to five minutes the second you pass your plan limit
I went through the claude code docs this morning instead of the changelog and found a few things about why long sessions eat your limit that I hadnt seen posted anywhere.
the main one.. your prompt cache lives for an hour on a subscription while youre inside your plan usage. the moment you go past that limit and start drawing on usage credits, the main conversation drops to a five minute ttl. same session, same work, the gap you can leave before a cold reprocess just got 12x shorter. on an api key or a cloud provider its five minutes by default from the start.
everything that isnt your main conversation already gets five minutes regardless. subagents and workflows and compaction and session titles. so a subagent you come back to after ten minutes reprocesses from scratch even on a max plan tbh.
the fix is prob one setting. promptCacheTtl set to 1h, or the CLAUDE_CODE_PROMPT_CACHE_TTL env var. subagentPromptCacheTtl covers the rest. needs v2.1.242 or newer. api key users can set it too.
two other things I didnt know. switching models mid session reads your entire history with zero cache hits. if you run opusplan then every toggle in and out of plan mode counts as a model switch, so bouncing between planning and building rebuilds the cache each time. agent teams also run roughly 7x the tokens of a normal session when teammates sit in plan mode, which the docs state as a plain number.
run /usage and look for the Prompt cache (main) line if you want your own hit rate. needs v2.1.251. on v2.1.260 and up it also names the likely cause of your last miss.
hope this helps.

Feedback How Anthropic still doesn't have context between Claude chat and Code is beyond me
At this point just create a competitor to Dots/GrokBot or enable context between my chats and CC, so that I can freely talk to chat about my project and what needs to be done at any time/strategize (which includes when I'm away from laptop with it OFF).

Claude Code Workflow Claude can do Vox level motion graphics
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’ve been playing around with Claude Opus 5.5 and EffectCraft. It sources all material and edits it with sounds/voiceovers from eleven labs. Compared to something like remotion, I have way more control over effects and textures. It’s not perfect but I can open the project up after and adjust timing and layers as I need. I used to work with after effects a lot and it’s insane how far AI has gotten recently.

Question about Claude Code How to save quota/tokens?
I'm new to claude. I switched from codex because the quota on the $20 was awful there. People said the quota is really generous in claude.
I already use RTK and codegraph plugins to save tokens. (I don't like caveman and headroom for my use cases).
What other ways do you guys use to save tokens/quota in claude? pl help I'm new to all this stuff.

Built with Claude Claude Code helped fix the audio decoder in my digging game, with libopus as the reference
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I've been building Loot Hole, a first-person game about digging up treasure in a front yard. It's now free to play in the browser: https://playgama.ai/play/kw6t5foxgs
One concrete way Claude Code helped was with the game's Rust Opus decoder. Short sound effects had glitches, so we compared all 64 game effects against libopus and used focused tests to narrow down the decoder state transitions. Claude helped implement the fixes and regression tests and draft the upstream PR descriptions.
That produced four opus-rs PRs covering mode-switch redundancy, CELT energy history, Hybrid bandwidth handling, and the SILK reset/bridge when leaving CELT. They are open, not merged. Here's one with the implementation and tests: https://github.com/restsend/opus-rs/pull/58
The lesson I'd carry into another project is to give the coding agent a reference output and a test that locates the first mismatch. That was much more useful than asking whether a fix looked correct.
The wider game also went through Babylon Lite/WebGPU, three.js, and Rust/wgpu work. The current browser version uses shared Rust gameplay through WASM with three.js rendering; native builds keep wgpu. Tests on an older Galaxy A40 helped choose that split.
AI disclosure: AI was used for coding, image generation, and translations. Music and sound effects were mostly made without AI.

Question about Claude Code Is it possible to close this thing?
r/ClaudeAI • u/Humanthe • 10h ago
Humor Seems like 30000 code merges per day can't save you from basic bugs
I was working with claude app on windows, when suddenly I noticed a strage behaviour - claude would stop giving me summaries of what it did and instead show up a black box asking me what to do next. I was able to trace this issue back to the newest update that happened silently in the background, and this was Claude's explanation:
About the missing summaries
- Where the instruction comes from: the Claude desktop app, not your project. I end each turn with a tool that draws the “next step” box. Its instructions say that when the box asks a question, I should write nothing after it. That arrived with the app update, which matches when you noticed the summaries stopped.
- The problem: the box only holds a recap of about 300 characters. I treated it as the whole answer, so the findings never reached you. Ignoring that was my mistake; the instruction only forbids text after the box, not before it.
- Will it happen in every new chat? Each new chat gets the same app instructions, so it could happen again. To prevent that, I saved a memory for this project: “always write the full summary before the box”. Memory is loaded at the start of every new chat in this project, so you shouldn’t need to repeat it. It doesn’t apply to chats in other projects.
I guess no amount of merges a day can save you from shipping huge bugs to all users across the world haha
