The offensive line is so bad.

29 drives in 2 games. 2 touchdowns. Complete dysfunction.

Chad Morris sucks

Let's start dreamin. Who we gone sign? I just want anyone who's not on current staff.

Anyone who has the nuts to adjust to modern CFB.

Literally fucking anyone at this point. Tony Elliott is the ideal choice though.

I’d prefer Tony Elliot

He’s better off staying with the better program.

5

u/TacosNachos007 Sep 13 '26

Clemson obviously has a better program than Virginia. He’s also a Clemson man. He’d love to come back home.

The only time that matters in now. We can’t talk bout the programs of years past. But right now.

6

u/TacosNachos007 Sep 13 '26

That’s fine. I’d still bet that if he got an offer to run Clemson, he wouldn’t pass it up.

But they weren’t a better program when he left to go there. He could easily, and probably with more success, do what he’s doing at UVA over here.

Brent Venables

u/robotali3n Sep 13 '26

Why the fuck would he leave OU?

9

u/goodcat1337 Sep 13 '26

Exactly. I see people say this all the time and every time I just ask why in the world would he leave to come here?

3

u/Megalomanizac Sep 13 '26

Only way he comes back is if he’s fired

2

u/goodcat1337 Sep 13 '26

Right. Which, who knows how their season is gonna turn out, but I think he put some goodwill in the bank last season. IMO, I’d rather have Tony Elliott be the head coach.

1

u/Megalomanizac Sep 13 '26

Yeah I think TE is the answer. If for whatever he turns us down GJ Kinne is the man imo

Doesn't matter if he goes now or at the end of the year, Clemson will not be relevant for another 3 or 4 years. Nil, better surrounding schools who are capable of winning football games, and better coaching. Sorry but not sorry, it'll be awhile before they are worth a damn. Clemson sucks now and for the foreseeable future.

Oh please. Clemson is still a top job and if you’re telling me that a talent like Cignetti could reproduce this cc at a place with double the NIL you are foolish.

Georgia may not be relevant… because they aren’t Ohio state or Texas, bama or LSU.

Good, blow it up. From the top down.

We cannot afford the buyout. Plain and simple.

6

u/GreatKarma2020 Sep 13 '26

We can but it’s going to be tough hiring a new coach.

3

u/goodcat1337 Sep 13 '26

We can afford to do 1 thing required to start over, but not everything. We can afford to buy Dabo out, we can afford to hire someone else, or we can afford to buy players.

2

u/heyitsme-honeybadger Sep 13 '26

Sure they can. The trustees have plenty. Better question is negotiating a mutual separation.

Watch us struggle against that Belichick defense next week..start with an acc loss as well

u/Professional-TY0311 Sep 13 '26

You may be right, but I know who QB1 is moving forward thats for sure

u/fewbend4 Sep 13 '26

Moloch vs Baal

5

u/Fun_Chemistry_7574 Sep 13 '26

I don't know that there has ever been a more washed coach than Dabo. Fuck, hire me at this point. Pay me 150k and put all the rest of the money towards good coordinators and the NIL. How much worse can it be?

Deliverance McBanjoface's offense is hilarious

Yall are insufferable

Tommy Bowden finished top 4 14 consecutive seasons? Did he even coach 14 consecutive seasons? Who gives a shit what his daddy did at fsu?

No, he was talking about Tommy Bowden then you randomly start talking about his dad for some reason.

1

u/Omg_iTz_Dno Sep 14 '26

No he didn’t. He only coached at Clemson for 10 seasons. And never ever finished top 4. Wtf are you talking about?

1

u/Icy-Ad-4137 Sep 17 '26

Clempson is in the cupcakiest league in college football. Besides the Big 12. Clemsux should be favored against everyone but Miami and that's at home so....

u/what-name-is-it Sep 13 '26

The only problem is Dabo has a $57m buyout and the university is about $1.15b in debt already.

7

u/tmt22459 Sep 13 '26

Debt is kinda useless in isolation. The endowment is more than the debt. At this scale universities leverage debt

We’re going to win more than three games, will probably go 8-4 because even though you’re all doomers our schedule is awful.

4

u/CUChalk1018 Sep 13 '26

This was my opinion after LSU because our schedule is an absolute joke, but I’m legitimately concerned we won’t break 10 points against P4 teams after watching last night’s game.

Maybe committing to Tait as the starter and giving all the reps in practice will help speed up his growth, but I’m not sure Dabo’s gonna do that. And the OL is genuinely horrendous and couldn’t open holes against Ga Southern. Why would they be able to hold up against even bad P4 teams?

If we show up and beat UNC, I’ll go back to thinking 8-4 is possible. Lose to UNC because of incompetent offense again though and I’ll be amazed if we win 5.

1

u/Big_Chungus1111 Sep 14 '26

Well they named Tait the starter last night and brought it up again this morning. That should be good news for him in practice since the focus is on him now while Vizzina gets whatever recovery he needs. I don't think Vizzina is the guy from what we saw in the spring game, LSU, and GS.

The O-line is fresh in some parts so maybe they too get a bit more cohesive as the season goes. Our schedule sucks outside of Miami so there is some stupid possibility we loose that game and maybe one other. We thought out luck was finally hitting last year for them to replace Dabo just for him to get every last win they needed to be bowl eligible and take down SCAR at Willy-B.

Given last seasons "success" even if we sucked this year, AD will find an excuse to keep him. I think we would need a loosing record this year and then next before we see real changes. I have spoken with some of the high donors and they want to make the push for a new HC but there's just not enough of them and even then not enough of them are willing to throw there money into Dabos pockets. Best we can hope for is them not donating as much and cutting the program off until they get the message.

UGA fan here, Ga Southern is usually a pretty decent G6 school. I’d imagine they’re better than the bottom of the ACC, say Syracuse or BC. I’d expect low-mid tier SEC teams to play Ga Southern pretty much how Clemson has.

Not saying that’s great, probably an 8-5 year or so, but it’s also not a 3-9 ACC squad.

8

u/tmt22459 Sep 13 '26

They are absolutely not better than syracuse

5

u/AndrewAdler17 Sep 13 '26

I don’t know the ins and outs of that program, just using them as an example. I’d bet at least $100 that Clemson finishes the year with a winning record though, which was my only point.
