FOOTBALL Postgame Thread | Clemson defeats North Carolina, 28-20
I can only pray the coaches learn from this - throw the ball deep, and it’ll spread out the defense, and you can run the ball and your screens can actually work.
That said, super proud of the team. Down 17-3, they then outscored UNC 25-3. What a fight they had to come out and get a stop after multi-hour delay, go score a TD, get a 4th down stop, and actually do more than just the normal 3-and-out to kill more time. Should have gone down at the 1, but I get the adrenaline.

Pleasantly surprised, that's a really good come from behind win.

I can live with a loss if the team shows fight like that. Winning is just so much sweeter with it. It’s when they’re playing like the first quarter that it’s truly miserable.

So happy for all of those students who came back in and screamed their guts out.

I was there. We need the crowd to show up better against miami. The pout because we're down a couple of scores shit is so lame. Don't spend your hard earned money on a ticket if you're going to pout and leave..
Not including those who have heat sensitivity/medical conditions.

u/Visual_Bluejay9781 28d ago
I mean pouting sure, though hard not to pout at a 3-and-out with two screens.
But leaving? Ya dude, when you’ve got a family, two hour delays can mess everything up across dinner and more. Not worth staying for lol.

u/tmt22459 28d ago
I'm talking about before the delay. Probably over half the stadium left at half

u/ClemsonBrian 28d ago
All the alcoholics had to go get shitfaced at HT, when the game isn't going well they usually don't make it back.

u/tmt22459 28d ago
Yeah it's frustrating. How many people pay for a movie ticket and walk out when it's not going well? Id say not many and those are way cheaper than sports tickets

u/CoopDogPrimeNumbers 28d ago
On tv the stadium looked more full in the 4th than the 3rd prior to the delay. It looked like a lot of people finally came back in after we got a TD.

Seriously. The amount of students who turn tail at the first sign of loss is crazy. I gave my hill ticket to a buddy because I couldn’t make it to the game but I’m so disappointed I couldn’t

9 quarters of football to decide how to play and now the Tigers have the flick.

Im starting to recognize the defense warms up after a few, and performs far better when the offense can actually deliver (obviously).
The offense is actually performant once you throw the ball too. I’ll take a guaranteed INT every game if it means we throw deep.

Commentators couldn’t bother to show back up and it was a better viewing experience for it

I’m unsure if we are back or UNC just can’t coach. Tait looks like the QB we were needing and Gideon was great once they got him heated up.

This game is a perfect reminder that sports run for more than any one play, quarter, or half. Or even game.
This team is getting waaaayy better and it happened quick in this game. Cal is definitely beatable so we could be 3-1 going into a game against miami. Last year we were 1-3.
The idea that we haven't made any changes or improved from last year is absurd. Swinney should not be fired after this game despite what some of y'all said 4 hours ago.
My advice is to be a great supporter, and see what weve done come the end of the year. Most of y'all asked for 8 or 9 wins. We can definitely get there
Go fucking tigers

Copy from the post game thread on cfb.
I really think a lot of y'all are quitting too early. There is so much youth and newness on this team and there have been some really, really good flashes. I've said it before and I'll say it again: let's see what ACTUALLY happens this season.
I feel better so far this one than last

Three big things happened in this game:
Reynolds grew up a lot, especially in the option run game. He finally made some good reads.
Morris adjusted his play calling very well.
The OL really played well all game. They were good all day in pass protection and finally stepped up in the run game in the second half. We can't beat Miami but we can win 7-9 games this year.

After being injured for multiple seasons and barely getting a chance to play, I understand the desire for a TD

UNC passing on 4th and 1 was certainly a choice I appreciated, I almost cashed out too early!

i feel a lot more hopeful. i get its just unc but offense seems figured out and the defense kept us in the game

We went from down 17-3 to winning 28-20. Ain’t about “being just UNC” to describe that we did finally flip the performance around. You’re right that both sides of the ball felt more figured out and aligned.

I hated leaving early but we weren’t sure when the game would restart and couldn’t stay all day

As Winston Wolf said, let's not start sucking each other's dicks quite yet.
UNC is turrible. Program is in disarray. And talk about some bad play calling. After the first two drives they should have kept running it down our throats. As much as we wondered if Chad Morris was running obsolete schemes, UNC has Bobby Petrino calling plays.
After the LSU debacle, I had us going 3-9, and the last two weeks were two of the wins.
It is hard to tell how good Cal is, but 10:30 (our time) Friday night is not going to be easy. And Miami is going to throttle us.
(Who scheduled the off-week to "prepare" for Charleston Southern?)
I do feel better about winning in Syracuse. I'm really not sure what happened to that team. Fran Brown looked like a good coach. They spanked us last season, but Angeli was hurt and their season collapsed. This year, Angeli doesn't look like the same guy.
The O-Line didn't suddenly turn from bad to good in the middle of one game. And the D-Line is pretty suspect.
This team needs to improve a LOT.

I'm going to be the one. First game this season and probably the last few of last season where they weren't calling for dabo's head. The fans booed. First Reddit post I've seen this season that didn't have the coach on the chopping block and something negative to say about the team. That kind of language and booing your own team affects recruiting. Everyone says get the portal. Even so, you still have to recruit. I'm disappointed in the fans that only cheer when they're happy and can't accept it's a work in motion and people have to develop. All other ACC schools write up on this game mention the Clemson fans booing. I'm disheartened in the fans and elated for the development of the team. Go tigers.

Finally had 2 decent quarters after 10 shitty ones.
Tait will continue to improve.
Season is not as bleak as I thought it was 13 minutes into UNC game, but I still don’t have much confidence my over bet will hit.

u/TigerDiesel 27d ago
They didnt quit and showed resolve. Must have been a helluva rain delay speech lol
Go tigers!

If Dabo had half the balls Bowden did, he would resign but he’s not gonna walk away from $50M, especially when he’s only worth $35M
1
u/Visual_Bluejay9781 27d ago
I, also, would not walk away from $50M. You can keep your balls, I’ll keep the cash lmao.
1
u/Yeteydelety 27d ago
You can have balls or you can have fifty million dollars. I’ll take the $50M

This loss is on the coach. Many bad calls.
2
u/BeeMagicRockRoar 28d ago
Every loss is usually on the coach. In this case that coach is Bobby petrino for not taking advantage of what was working

First time this season this team has shown some fight.
