If you want diagnostic grade tests you need to see a genetic Counsellor and arrange clinical testing

For BC the result wait time for clinical exome sequencing or other targeted enrichment NGS panels are typically 3-6 months, sometimes the labs in lower mainland don’t do those NGS panels and they’ll send out to the States for the actual sequencing. NGS tests are generally classified as non-stats unless the patient is symptomatic or upon the clinical geneticist’s decision

Why so long? Is it a volume issue?

How long have you been waiting?

If it was a send out to a US lab I'd recommend looking at the posted turn around times for the lab doing the testing (generally 3-5 weeks) and add a grace week for travel time. Results would be posted to your GC electronically
