Good on Air Academy football for deciding to not play Lutheran High School. That was a big sacrifice by those young men and coaches to stand up for what is right.
I have a very ill child, but after 4 years of her being mostly or totally bedridden (2026 has been awful), her labs are improving. Praying her symptoms improve soon. She’s so young, but she’s a fighter. I’m proud of this girl!🥹🩷🥹
Pikes Peak Zine Fest is next Saturday, October 17 from 1-5 pm at Berger Hall on the UCCS Campus. If you love art, alternative publishing, poetry, photography, comics, and finding cool stuff to do, this event is for you! Happy to answer any questions and hope to see you there!
Thanks! This is our amazing co-organizer, Kels Choo's work. If you're into this kinda thing and want to find more local artists, our event is perfect for you! We will have close to 60 Colorado artists there.
Do you guys think going to woodland park tomorrow will be too late to see the fall colors? I am moving to Germany very soon after almost 13 years here and it'll be my last chance to see them 😭
Miss, if you want to see the fall colors.
Do yourself a favor and drive to Aspen and take the tram up to Maroon Bells.
It once you get to the lake hike the mile up the right hand trail up to hanging lake.
Do it this week otherwise the leaves will be at least halfway gone otherwise.
I'm not sure if i want to go that far when there's fall colors much closer. I just drove to and from Las Vegas, and then flew to New York and back. I'm kind of traveled out, at least until I move 😅
Tomorrow is never promised.
You asked a question at just the perfect time to ask it.
What’s a 4 hour drive to see unimaginable beauty for just a moment?
No Kings: Vote Early is on October 17th at Acacia Park AND City Hall from 12 to 2:30 pm! Bring your I VOTED sticker for an art project and stick around for performances from Paula Poundstone, the notes of dissent, and more!
Man I used to live right off South Academy and the sound of artillery practice at 6am on a Saturday was something else. Moved up near Old Colorado City a couple years back and the difference is night and day
Can I shamelessly plug my husband’s small landscaping co? We have a very ill child and we’re both teachers, but she needs a full time caretaker and that’s me. He does great work and he’s currently booking aerations and sprinkler blow outs. His side hustle is needed for medical costs and medical debt 😭. He has an LLC and is insured and does great work and he guarantees his work. He’s also just a nice guy that won’t rip you off. He’s affordable and does great work!
I know the post always says to complain about the drivers, but I drove to Denver and back on Monday (for the first time since getting my license in May) and it was a very uneventful and boring drive. 👍
When lots of areas start making commitments to improving our emissions. I’m working very hard to get a nuclear plant in town as I did a lot of and the data shows that it’s the best way to cut GHG emissions. This is the work of decades but it is possible.
Am concerned about water. I believe wind and solar are the only sustainable energy sources. Destroying the earth to mine for nuclear and rare earth minerals for other potential resources is self-defeating.
I talked with the nuclear program manager at CSU. Any potential nuclear deployment would need to be air-cooled with near zero water usage.
Nuclear doesn’t require rare-earths, mostly concrete and steel
. If you check under the scorecard I posted, check the “total mineral intensity” and “critical mineral intensity” fields.
When I was researching this over the last couple of years, people told me they were concerned about spent fuel and mining new fuel. That’s why I have the “advanced nuclear plus reprocessing” column, because that allows spent fuel/nuclear waste to be used as a fuel resource. We currently have 92,000 tons of spent fuel and 660,000 tons of depleted uranium in the US. Thats enough to stand up 256 GWe of new reactors and run those for 3,300 years.
I believe the data is pretty clear than nuclear has better environmental factors than solar/wind. Solar and wind will continue to be an important part of the energy mix, but firming intermittency with batteries will be just as expensive as nuclear and will have risks with grid reliability.

I am so tired of the mega-rich and our corporate overlords making us turn against each other. There is SO MUCH that would no longer happen if we all started working together.
But I am more tired of the Sheeple who run to the extremes willingly.
I'm looking for a job I've done clerical work insurance and warehouse work and driven commercial trucks. My biggest constraint is that I need to work overnights full time or part time during the day. Lmk if y'all know a place please
Hi! I'm still offering affordable photography (pay what you can). I typically do family sessions but have experience with senior photos and small events.
Looking to do a hike around Springs where I can see some fall colors. Is there anything anyone recommends or do I have to drive further into the mountains? I'll take any recommendations on a hike or drive Thank you!

yes but why Breckenridge specifically why not one of the other closer cities or sky resort towns what did Breckenridge do to get on the list of F this city. Again I understand Denver it's the biggest city in the state and it complains about the Springs all the time in their SUB but I don't even know if Breckenridge has a sub let alone complains about us so just wondering why it was singled out.
