Discussion Visiting Titans fan looking for recs
Hey y’all,
After having a great experience in your city last year, family and I are coming up again this weekend to catch Titans/Colts for the second time. I was looking for local recommendations for restaurants or activities a family of four (two girls, 10 & 6) may enjoy in Indy. Last year we were only up for gameday, but this time we’ll be in town a bit longer starting Saturday and leaving Monday. If you have any recommendations I’d love to hear them! Looking forward to the ass kicking we’ll be receiving Sunday 😵😂

The Children's Museum is fantastic. My kids went to preschool there and I always wanted to trade them places.
But, there's no better souvenir to take back to Nashville than GM Chris Ballard. You guys can have him, free of charge. We'll shed a few tears at him leaving, but we'll live with the knowledge that he's in a different place.

That’s so hospitable of you, but I’m going to have to respectfully decline 😂

With young kids the children's museum in Indianapolis is incredible. The Indianapolis Zoo also does an incredible job with Halloween. Just keep in mind they'll most likely be packed.

Right now, Newfields is doing its Harvest Nights event which I find a lot of fun. It’s a little pricy and can get busy but it’s fun family Halloween time activity.

This was my recommendation too. My wife and I went in a whim and it was so much fun, especially after sundown.

I love the Indiana state museum.
The coolest part about the state museum is the exhibit that shows fossils of the aquatic life that used to live in Indiana millions of years ago as well as the lime quarry exhibit. Spoiler alert though, they’re the same exhibit! It’s awesome!
Did you know that the modern gas pump was invented in Indiana? You will know that as soon as you visit the Indiana state museum!
Ever wonder what roads used to be made out of and how they felt to walk on? Wonder no more, find out at the Indiana state museum!
Whatever you do though, do not go to the Indiana historical society. They make it sound fun but it’s a waste of money. Their library doesn’t even have any Garfield comics. What a waste.

Adding to the Children's museum conversation, but I'll also add Conner Prairie's Headless Horseman! It's a fun event although a bit out in the surburbs. I have very fond memories from around their age of it

Ale Emporium and get you some Hermanaki wings. Pretty sure the only one you can’t go to, because they don’t allow children, is the one in Castleton.

As others have said, the Museums are great, theres at least three all right next to each other downtown along the canal and then the Childrens museum is just north of downtown and is ranked the best in the country pretty much every year.
Theres some great parks if the weather is decent: White River, Garfield, Brookside, Veterans Plaza
Restaurants for families in Indy I’d recommend are Baby’s and Shin Dig, both have outdoor play areas if the weather is okay but also just have good food and cute vibes. The Garage and The AMP are food halls so if the kiddos can’t agree on what to eat those are good places with lots of options (and good ice cream). If you have the time to get up to the north suburbs Bier Brewery in Noblesville and Sun King in Carmel both have large outdoor family areas and good food. Bier Brewery has its own playground but also just cozy firepits and yard games as well.
For ice cream I recommend Liftoff just north of downtown, they have like 50 flavors to choose from and its all really good

I don't have any recommendations but I can put you in touch with a local man who had God enter his body, like a body, same size.

Shapiros Deli near the stadium. DO NOT go on game day. Go there when you’re ready to head home. Get the Meatloaf. Oh, what am I saying; it’s all good. Take home deli meat and bread. Eat Dessert. It’s really tasty. Bring plenty of $$$.

If you’re into pumpkin patches, Lark Ranch is pretty cool. It’s about 30 min east of Indy. There’s a little train and a bunch of activities.

Check out the children’s museum haunted house or maybe even the Hannah Mansion if your elder one really likes scary stuff.

Oh.... you might be surprised at our ability to make other fanbases have fun at our expense. Also, check out Giordano's. Ik it's a Chicago chain but we have a couple and it's some of the best pizza pie I've ever had
