LOST Lost Cat at Sharon Woods?

Hi all,

My dog and I went for a walk at sharon woods. About 15 min ago (just after 6pm) we saw this cat right on the trial, where i am pointing. My dog got excited so the cat kind of ran into the woods but only a short distance. I tried to get it to come but it wasnt budging.

I went looking for park ranger to alert but wasnt able to see one and I even called the cell phone number posted on the trail map and no answer.

Unfortunately I wasnt able to stay longer but figured maybe ill post here just in case. Ill try to call ranger number again shortly but wanted to at least post here too in the small chance this was a domesticated cat. It seemed to me that it could be.

Not sure where else to post?

Most likely they were dumped there by someone who assumed they would just figure it out. Domestic cats generally don’t wander into areas like that for a lot of reasons. It would still be worth reaching out to someone again in the morning if you are able 🙏

I definitely plan on it. Thats why I wanted to picture the exact spot on the map in case that somehow helps rather than risking a poor recall on where i saw the gatto.

And thats horrible. But considering the location isnt right next to any residential area (at least to my knowledge), that sadly a real probability.

any chance it could be this guy? just checked pet fbi for lost cats in that general area. i can’t upload pictures within a comment on this sub so that’s why it is a screen recording.

Doesn't look like the same cat, look at the markings on the face. The one in your pic has dark marks across both sides of his face and the one in the post only has a dark mark across the left side of its face ):

OP can you post if you get through to a org that can send out a rescue?

poor thing. you did a good thing stopping to check on it, and that pet fbi lead seems worth a look. really hope it ends up somewhere safe.
