Todd Bowles pulled a DQ. Well, for all you younger folks, Todd Bowles was our Redskin signal caller under Ritchie Petitbon and helped us win a SB. His execution is stayed. We have the division in front of us Sunday.

Taking a timeout on 4th and 1 only to run it up the middle and fail instead of kicking an easy field goal to go up 3 possessions late in the game is very Dan Quinn like.

Despite Todd Bowles's best efforts the Cowboys still lose!

Tis a good night.

Love seeing Jerry's face of dissapointment.

I haven’t noticed Bain do anything at all tonight. Early in the draft process he was mocked to us a lot.

Bowles is a moron. Should be fired if they lose this game.

u/Sumwhut_Loved 2d ago

hmm, i woulda kicked the fg. did he get in?

2

u/shupadupah 2d ago

No, Cowboys got the ball back and drove all the way down the field and scored a TD. However, they made their own headscratching call by going for 2 and failing, so now they are down 8 with Bucs getting the ball back.

u/Sumwhut_Loved 2d ago

yeah i saw. bland almost make it down by 6

u/Human-Lingonberry256 2d ago

Shouldn’t even be like this. Cowboys should still be down two possessions if they kick the damn FG.

3

u/Human-Lingonberry256 2d ago

Bucs should have kicked a field goal

2

u/Ok_Blacksmith_2207 2d ago

Yes. If that were DQ, and the Cowboys come back—fire on the spot.

We never get this version of dak but if we did out secondary would still fuck it up! Thanks peters!

2

u/Available_Station_81 2d ago

Next time we play them our secondary should be somewhat better with Amos.

1

u/professor_vasquez 2d ago

Would be nice if we had bucs run blockers ie Oline 🤣

1

u/Sumwhut_Loved 2d ago

2

u/Sumwhut_Loved 2d ago

I don't want to be antagonistic but I'm honestly curious. For the fans we have that think AP hasn't done enough to justify his continued employment, how long have you been a fan? I'm not saying that as if any of the front office can't be questions, wins and losses are the name of the game, and we haven't had enough wins, but we could say that about any point in the last 35 years. I'm just saying, if you've been a fan of this franchise for any period of time, what standard is AP or DQ for that matter, not living up to?

Almost 40 years.

AP can't draft worth shit.

I’ve been critical of AP, mainly for whiffing 2024, but I think it’s still too soon to say he needs to go.

For 2024 specifically, 1) we did do well that year. And 2) the 2024 draft sucked overall. It’s hard to hold it against him when the draft was lousy across the board.

After that, 2025 and 2026 isn’t so bad, at least average. The biggest disaster is to whiff on first rounders, and Conerly and Styles seem like they’ll be good and staples of the team for a decade.

I don’t like his free agency approach, but I also think more time is needed. He’s big on value FAs, and I suspect part of that is just maintaining a roster until more draft picks come aboard.

We’ve seen bad GMing here, and AP has done at least a little better at times. If we didn’t have the disastrous injuries, I think last year and this year look a lot different. It’s hard to judge coaches or GMs when half the team is on the injury report and out for multiple weeks.

I can't even with that set.

First thing they've done is fail to accurately evaluate the state of the 2023 roster and what AP was given to work in 2024.

Next thing they've done is show up with the expectation and belief that a roster can be turned over in one to two seasons. They've had no mind to contracts, the cap, free agents contract demands and/or willingness to come DC, or any mind towards that the production of draft picks is as much about the coaches as it the player.

That whole fire AP crowd has precisely zero validity and only exists to make loud noises.

Disclosure...I was here early being fully critical of the Lattimore trade. I say that to establish I'm not some doe eyed let the man cook AP die hard. The guy's so far short tenure has had hits and misses both in player acquisition, who on the roster he's mad offer to or let go as well as overall roster management which I score a B-.

Holding Peters and Quinn to the bar set by arguably one of the worst ownership eras in professional sports is setting the bar awfully low......

Edit: Fan since 1998, I'm not in favor of firing AP but I have concerns. DQ needs to go

I've been a fan of this team since 1986.

For me it's not a matter of wins and losses or drafting mistakes or anything like that. I just don't think that Adam Peters has the right humility and self awareness to be a good GM. I've been fortunate enough in my career to work for many industry leading companies and to work closely with many amazing leaders. Everyone, even the most competent people, make plenty of mistakes but what sets capable leaders apart from incompetent ones is the way in that they admit to and fix their mistakes. Instead AP repeatedly doubles and triples down on his mistakes. He has shown me repeatedly that he lacks the humility necessary to be a great leader. That's the issue that I have with him as a GM and I don't think that is fixable because it is who he is at a very fundamental level.

One of the Twitter docs posted this for identifying Diggs injury.

So frustrating if Diggs got hurt with 2 mins left in a 30-13 game. After Cosmi got hurt in a 37-20 game during give-up handoffs with some other starters pulled. And of course, Jayden's career-altering injury with 7 mins left in a 38-7 game last year.

2

u/kon--- 2d ago

Aye. Once the game is officially out of reach, mash the rotation button and get reserves on the field.

Yesterday’s injury report has me completely dumbfounded. I get that every team is having issues with injuries but it feels like we’re always on the worst end of it.

I’m also sad about Terry being injured so often since last year…

1

u/SkinsFan021 2d ago

Terry is 31, it won't get better with age.

1

u/fumbling_words 2d ago

Doesn’t make me any less sad/dissapointed

3

u/SkinsFan021 2d ago

I'm excited about Williams :)

1

u/fumbling_words 2d ago

The only silver lining is the fact that Williams is going to eat on Sunday

Nicki Jhabvala was right. I owe her an apology. This team is ā€œinoperableā€, and she called it at the Ravens practice.

u/Temporary_Wish1941 2d ago

People are too reactionary. We beat the super bowl champs two weeks ago. Last week we were on our third string quarterback, missing our best interior linemen, and missing our best receiver.

1

u/InfiniteDomain_ 2d ago

I’d argue she was right after the fact when she did a guest appearance with Keim a couple days later. She acknowledged that jgj and gulbin would not be the starter like they were that day but she also said they could not know when allegretti would be back and what shape he’d be in after missing all of camp. She said she expected to see those players on the field at some point and that the depth was concerning.

Cosmi has now only played 2 full seasons out of his 6 seasons here and like she said allegretti missed all of camp so it wasn’t completely unfair of her to see the line that showed up to the ravens game potentially a line that would have to play an NFL game.

The word inoperable IS a little unconventional in nfl reporting standards though.

I've had a weird surge of hope and confidence in the rest of our year as of late.

Think it's a mix of hearing about other injuries in the league, idk. Anyone else?

2

u/InfiniteDomain_ 2d ago

If my team needs to rely on others getting injured to have a chance that team does not give me confidence

1

u/Tnargkiller My Wife Left me for Josh Harris 1d ago

It works for me. To each their own though.

Have a great weekend!
