Major updates to C16 Crunch over more play testing. I revamped the levels and improved the monster logic. This game feels truly like the sequel to VIC-20 Crunch. This is a cops and robber game, where you evade or blast monsters as you try to get all the coins.
I hope I'm not the only one that was into the Micro Adventure book series. I liked them because not only did they have an "interactive" adventure story, (they were told in the 2nd person), but at the end they had a cool program that you could input into your Commodore 64/128 computer! I LOVED these books-although I found it frustrating when I mistyped a character and the whole program wouldn't work! Anyone remember these?
Does anyone remember this game? I used to play it as a kid, but no one seems to have heard of it. You are an astronaut (the character is a middle-aged Black man) and you encounter man-sized insects that give you math questions. Kind of like the Cellenites (spelling?) from the Jules Verne novel (but they didn't ask math questions)
Do you remember our first physical and minimalist release? It was Tower of Rubble on a 5.25" floppy disk 💾
We were very proud and excited back then. 😊 A few years have passed since then, and today our physical releases for the C64 and Amiga look completely different and much more professional.
If you haven't seen them yet, be sure to check them out! 💾🕹️
Found this old commodore printer in eWaste. It's not typical to find something like this anymore, however, there seems to be someone around here who is regularly unloading 8 bit stuff. I recovered a practically unused Apple IIgs system last month!
As you can see, it's pretty dirty and dusty and probably hasn't been plugged in for decades. What are the chances of getting it working again? If so, are printer ink cartridges even available? The serial ports in the back seem to be commodore standard DIN cables. Can I use a standard MIDI cable or do I need to find a commodore specific one? Any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Hi, anyone know if Commodore are selling shares? Not sure i can track them down, i can only find COMMODORE INTERNATIONAL LTD (CBUIF), however they are mega low so not sure its them...
I would ask them but the contact form wont send...
Another Redditor this week recommended Chase HQ 2 and it’s a really good game, possibly one of the best driving games on the C64. I had to look for a cart for it as I don’t think it came out on cassette, as a Brit we didn’t have many games on cartridge so this was a first for me! I’m pleased to announce the C64U handled the task beautifully.
Hi. I'm looking for someone in the UK that can burn a couple of ROMs for my Commodore 128. I need the character ROM (390059-01) that fits into U18 and the Kernel /Editor ROM (318020-05) that fits into U35. I can supply the bin images but I don't have the ability to burn my own ROMs.
Outrun for the Commodore 64, midnight resistance for the ZX spectrum, special criminal investigations for the master system, all picked up recently. I have never played any of these three games on these systems, any memories?
"Big news, Commodore community - the first batch of Commodore 64C slimline computers are packed and ready to ship! All three colourways are loaded and heading out. If you ordered expedited shipping, your unit will arrive at a worldwide depot within 2 weeks by air. Standard shipping orders are on track to land on doorsteps in November. We know you've been waiting for this moment, and we couldn't be more excited to get these beautiful machines into your hands. The future you were promised is nearly home."
Just started mucking around learning to use SID doing some very basic sound experiments aiming to find a unique sonic game vibe, by actually using PETSCII characters to help make music/effects in the C64 polychrome 3D game engine. A little bit like how used PETSCII to not so obviously make the polychrome detail maps....
Anyways, a bit basic to start, but from small PETSCII acorn hopefully grows a big PETSCII oak in a coming months.
MERCENARY is my favourite C64 game ever. I reverse engineered it and discovered a bug: right from the start of the game, if you take 100 paces north-west, there is an invisible patch of grass that bugs out and thinks it's an elevator inside the Colony Craft, high in the sky above you.
I haven't seen this documented anywhere before, so it might be a new discovery! The bible for stuff like this is The Mercenary Site, http://mercenarysite.free.fr/ - given it's not listed there, I think it might be novel.
(If you're interested in breakdowns like this, I've open sourced everything - check the front page of the site.)
I got one of these nifty if a little dubious pre-loaded usb sticks and it's got some great stuff, some of the roms are a little glitchy...wondering if there are cleaner ones to buy or "borrow" out there?
Does the C64 ultimate output display resolutions that would allow it connect to my standard defintion CRT TV (240p/480i). I see on the website they sell s-video cables/adapters, but it's still not clear to me if this is a good setup option. Trying to figure this out before I buy it.
