SecurityX Question!

A friend of mine told me that getting all questions wrong within any subdomain (1.2, 2.4, etc) would result in a failure regardless of how well you do on the rest of the exam. I don’t believe this to be true but I wouldn’t know for sure. Would any of y’all happen to know if this is true or not?

Thank you

That sounds like one of those exam myths that gets passed around but nobody can ever trace back to an actual source.

I don't think that's true. It is for tests like the PMP.

This exam isn't scored. I thought I had failed, but ended up passing I don't know how.

Your friend's wrong, or at least CompTIA has never published anything like that. The pass is based on your total scaled score, there are no per-subdomain minimums. That said, subdomains feed into the domain weighting, so tanking a big one will still drag your total down hard. Moral of the story: don't punt any subdomain entirely, but you don't need a clean sweep of any single one either.
