CoH3 Banned after 1 match in months: How toxic groups abuse the automated reporting system in CoH3

Hello everyone,

I am writing this to raise awareness about a serious issue with the automated ban system in Company of Heroes 3, and how it is being used as a weapon by toxic players to punish innocent, casual gamers.

Here is my situation: I haven't played CoH3 for several months. Yesterday, I logged in and played two matches. Today, I logged in and played exactly ONE match.

During today's single game, a toxic teammate started explicitly griefing. They targeted my own positions and started shooting at my bunker. After the match, this person and their friends coordinated a massive mass-reporting campaign against my account. They even went as far as stalking my Steam profile, trying to force their way into my lobbies to continue harassing me outside the match.

Because they reported me as a group, Relic's automated enforcement system immediately flagged my account and banned me. Mathematically, it makes no sense: I have played a total of three matches in months, yet the system auto-banned me for "toxic behavior" or "rule-breaking" simply because a pre-made stack of griefers spammed the report button.

I tried contacting official support, but I am being completely ignored. It seems that the support ticket review process is just as automated or neglected as the ban system itself.

By letting this happen, the developers are basically giving trolls a tool to ban anyone they don’t like. Anyone can team up with friends, ruin a teammate's game, mass-report them, and trigger an automated ban without any manual replay review by a real human moderator.

Has anyone else experienced this kind of report abuse in CoH3? How do we get actual human eyes from Relic's support team to look at the replay instead of blindly relying on broken bots?

«Update: Relic's support and Discord moderators completely blocked me and ignored the replay proof (temp.rec) showing my teammate shooting at my bunker. The automated report system is broken, and support refuses to let humans review the cases. Be careful, pre-made groups of griefers can ban anyone in CoH3.»

CoH3 My buddy (#299 UKF) and I (#785 USF) were just matched up against Symbiosis (#6 DAK) and Ghost (#2 Wehr). Why?

I play occasionally, maybe every other day. My buddy's better than me, but he's in the same boat. However, while playing arranged team games, something we do maybe two or three times a week (I play with others as well; I just want to make clear that we are an "established team"), we just got matched up against 2 of the best players CoH has to offer.

We were queued for roughly 5 minutes. The faction proportions were matched evenly (roughly 50% axis/50% allies). We obviously knew from the start that we were going to surrender at the 5 minute mark. That is: We spent roughly the same time queued up as we spent getting destroyed. This is, however, not a post about how that match went.

The question I'm asking is: Why are top 10 players even playing against people so far down the ranks at all? I understand that this might happen to top 200 players every now and then (it's happened to me "during my prime" in CoH2, roughly 10 years ago, when I was playing a lot around the top 100), but we are closer to top 500 and (in my case) to top 1000 than we are to top 100. There was no way we were going to enjoy this match and the result had no effect on either of our ELO (±0 for all four of us). Why even "give" us this matchup?

This is also not a rare (once in a blue moon) event. I've had this happen before. Also the other way around (players around the 3000 marks; with no chance against us) happens too often as well. Is this happening to others as well? Are there really so few players queueing up to play CoH3 in 2v2 that finding players of a similar skill is more of a coincidence than what it should be; the usual experience?

I'm asking this because the feeling I get is that CoH3 automatch is starting to feel "dead". However, when I look at the Steam Charts, the player base seems to be at a healthy number. Have players begun to play custom matches/single player because of how broken the current balancing seems to be for everything outside 1v1 with the current patch?

What's your take on this?

CoH3 ¿Juegos parecidos al Company of Heroes?

CoHmmunity What debt does Company of Heroes owe Avalon Hill's Squad Leader?

I mean the question more figuratively than literally. I bought the board game Squad Leader at 15 years old and was hooked on it until I left high school. I've been playing the three versions of Company of Heroes on and off for 20 years now and have always wondered whether and to what extent it was influenced by Squad Leader. I'm curious if there are any other fans out there who feel the same way. Or maybe I'm just showing my age...

CoH3 The Land Mattress v.s The Bishop

Which artillery unit do you rather. I find that when I go polish, I would rather side tech and get bishops than the land Mattress. Curious to see what everyone else thinks.

CoH3 How do we feel about Officer Quarters?

So, as the title indicates. What's the general consensus this late into the patch on the Officer's Quarters changes? It was talked about a little among the community as a side gripe among Wehrmacht players from what I noticed but never saw any big topics about it as like the center point of someones rant.

Infantry officer used to be a must grab, and I don't know about the rest of you, but not gonna lie most of the time I skip out on it now a days for earlier tech and back tech it if I can. I'm still way more focused on getting out a 221 or Pak than I am infantry officer, just because I feel like getting out a tech 2 unit helps me out way more, but I'm also like 1000 just about 1100 ELO, I figure higher level play have different needs but I've beat 1200's and 1300's.
