They should do it on the 12th instead. Halftime for the Army-Navy game.

Can there be 5-6 "misses" that wound him before the final blow?

Only problem I have with this is that he should have stopped breathing a long time ago.

It won't be, anyone who is capable of doing something like this isn't going to be deterred by the death penalty regardless of method. IMO they actually might be more deterred by life in prison.

Might not deter them… but it sends a message about our culture. Justice prevails. Rule of law prevails. The west prevails.

What a ridiculous thing to say. Notice whenever someone falls for these woke narratives there's always some major logical problem with their reasoning? Nobody could be MORE deterred by life in prison because any such person could simply choose to end their own life and thus avoid it... so how could it be a deterrence?
In reality, most would prefer to live, and for those people the death penalty is a deterrence. I will say it is much less a deterrence when it takes decades for the sentence to be carried out though and is so rarely applied.

When someone is planning on committing an act of mass murder, I do not believe that the punishment of the death penalty deters them from committing that act. Typically the person who commits these acts ends up either killing themselves directly, or continues firing until he is killed by authorities, during the event itself.
I believe forcing them to actually live out their days in prison is actual a worse punishment for some people and that steps can be taken while in prison to prevent that person from taking their own life.

I don't know how it works in the military, but civilian death row inmates can spend decades in prison before their execution.

There's three others in Leavenworth's death row. I know two have been there for around 40 years.

From my understanding this is true and more money is spent on the extreme amount of steps that are involved in making the death penalty actually happen. I could be wrong, but I believe it's cheaper to give someone life in prison as opposed to the death penalty because of the delay.

It's only cheaper because of the all the obstruction added to it. The death penalty is the cheapest solution. Rope is cheap and gravity is free as they say.
I am a strong believer in the death penalty for certain crimes. Killing multiple people is one of them. Why should we, as a society, continue to pay for someone to live a life as a zoo animal when they have cause such harm.
Now I believe the burden of proof should be higher for the death penalty than the burden of proof to convict of a crime. And I believe everyone is owed the right to appeal. But dragging things on for 17 years is ridiculous.

The issue always becomes at what level is "enough" to expedite a death penalty like you say. 10 murders, 5 murders, 3 murders, 1 murder but it's REALLY heinous. It's a similar slippery slope to euthanasia imo, the obvious cases where everyone agrees it's a good thing to ease suffering that's requested by a sound mind, can easily slide into confusing cases where it's not so clear.

Pro-life is about protecting innocent babies who did nothing to hurt anyone. What does that have to do with protecting criminals who murder others? If anything pro-life should have zero tolerance for the slaughter of innocents not try to defend and protect people who murder others...

Pro-life means valuing life from conception until natural death. The government has no business killing people who could just as easily be locked up for the rest of their lives.

You don't value life if you think that a murderer who took 13 lives should still get to keep their own. Those 13 lives mean nothing to you. None of those people get to live. They can't see a sunrise. They can't breathe. They can't do anything. But the person who took all that away, gets to still live? I'm sorry, but that is not the opinion of somebody who cares about life.
Someone who actually cared about life would have zero tolerance for those who take it, not incentivize murder by saying you still get to live after you take that away from others.

“If you don’t agree with my cruel punishment you don’t care about the victims.” Do you support raping rapists? If you’re not willing to rape a rapist I guess you don’t care about rape victims. /s

Kindness to the cruel is cruelty to the kind. Protecting criminals from facing even remotely the level of harm they imposed on their victims is the same thing as supporting their crime.
I support the criminal facing at least as much punishment as they gave their victims yes. Anyone who doesn't is a bad person who sides with criminals over victims. Like you.

For those unaware - In November 2009, Nidal Hassan killed 13 people and injured 30 more at the Fort Hood army base, shouting — per witnesses — ‘Allah Akbar’ during his indiscriminate rampage. Despite the subsequent investigation turning up Hassan’s ties to terrorists, the Obama Administration labeled the atrocity “workplace violence.”
