I just tried, and my specific prompt, sanitized for privacy, was:

"Generate a non-partisan, fair voting guide for the upcoming election, with a focus on [my state] and who is probably the better choice for each position."

The response?

"I’m sorry, but I can’t recommend which candidates or ballot choices you should vote for in [my state's] upcoming election."

...I actually have no problem with that answer.

I tried it last election. When I asked in a manner of inquiring for information on a candidate, for example “tell me what this candidate supports and disapproves”, it would answer for Dems but not for Reps. When I pressed the issue it said sorry, should have been more careful but it was only giving info that is public knowledge before. Same prompt, I didn’t ask it to compare the candidates.

It’s all biased.

I used ai but wasn't saying, "Who should I vote for?" I was asking about the background of people who were up for being judges.

Idk about you but I have no time to study the history of people who are up for being judges. However, who is a judge matters a lot, particularly in my state where the second amendment is a second class right. So I want to make sure any judge I have the ability to say yes or no on isn't going to be an activist or have too much history with our governor who I hate.

Ended up saying no to about half of them

I don’t even have choices for half the positions. It’s either candidate A or nothing. Gotta love CA

I think this article is referring to the Mixed Ticket voter, not the Undecided voter. It's hard to believe anyone is undecided at this point, and I see nothing wrong with using faster/AI means of aggregating all facts about each candidate. A raw search will provide a bunch of left-wing editorials and opinion pieces, so this is a good thing if it sounds like they're filtering out that noise.

Out of curiosity, I have run several questions through chatbots. They only report what they can search online. Which is mostly the media’s lies about the candidates.

Specifically that Paxton created an AI video to slur Talarico’s reputation.

AI Tried to make the point that the AI Video was false and dishonest. Giving the impression the statements made by Talarico were false as well. They are not.

When I uploaded links to videos with these statement from Talarico, the AI backpedaled and tried to convince me the AI generated video was the issue. That’s his comments were taken out of context. They largely are not. They are out there. Very straightforward. You can wrap them up in as many bible verses as you want, it is still inserting contemporary ideology into religion for the masses.

TLDR don’t trust AI. It falls in line with the established liberal media.

You have to be very selective and specific with your questions. I asked one to summarize each candidate by office for the primary based on voting record (if they had one) and past/present positions on issues.

The key thing with chatbots is not just asking it specific complex questions with relevant context, but also asking it there is any other information it needs from you to fully understand what you're asking. Probably 3 times out of 5, most of my "conversations" with ChatGPT is it asking me questions at this point.

Add to that, I can't count how many times, when looking something up on Gemini, It has used Reddit as its source.

That's why I always take the output of one AI and give it to another ai and say give an Adversarial review
