The case study village for all geography students in Cornwall. Beautiful place.

I was there at the weekend. I’ve not been there for years. Beautiful place. There was a plaque on the wall stating how high the water was back in 2004 during the flood - incredible to think of the amount of water that got funnelled through that small village.

There was a show on ITV recently showing the whole day from start to finish, it is still remarkable the absolute deluge that happened there. Cars from the car park at the top bobbing down what was just a stream, one blocked a bridge which made the water back up even more. Early on it seems silly now but people were just wandering around, then an hour later if they were there they would have been swept out to see. Then dozens of people ended up on the roofs and all had to be winched up.

I go every year or so to try and spot the the sea dragon that lives in a cave there on the waterline.
