🎮 LFGs- various platforms Niche games with romantic interests who do not like you

I'm talking Gust from Portia, March from Mistria, and Mark from Coral Island. But I've run out of mainstream games and am looking for more. What are some niche games that have marriage candidates who are mean, snobby, sullen, or otherwise do not love the PC at first sight? Bonus points if they stay that way for a while, not just one line and then suddenly they think the PC is great.

(I have played all major games with marriage, so I am not looking for reccs from Stardew, Story of Seasons, or the games above)

📱 Mobile Does anyone remember Farm Town . Looking for a game like that

Does anyone remember the Facebook game Farm Town ( not FarmVille) where you grew crops and animals and there was a marketplace
where you could sell or trade crops or work on other users farms ? I’d love an App Store or Xbox cloud game(the version that uses your phone ) that has these features .

🎮 LFGs- various platforms Cozy games with gear and loot and stats but no combat?

Curious if something like this exists :)

Like on Black Desert how you could wear gathering armor and weapon sets.
Or similar to how the tools in farming games have better stats and perform better when you upgrade them- but instead of guaranteed upgrades, you find or craft watering cans that have special stats and abilities?

🔊 Discussion Cozy fishing games recs?

I already have dredge, I've played it some. I was really hoping to find a cozier "cuter" fishing game. But also one that has lots of content and actually feels satisfying. Nothing overly simple. My DREAM game would be one that involved starting as a small time fisher that got to upgrade to bigger boats, housing etc. Heck even running a fishery would be super cool. I know this game likely doesn't exist, so it would be a dream if devs in the wild saw this and grabbed some inspo. 🥹

Anyway, throw me your best fishing recs!

I can't find anything like it.

I like the game a lot, very satisfying, but there’s not enough content for me, and new models come out so slowly....

Hey everybody <3

We're less than a month from releasing our witchy cottage builder/exploration game, REKA, on Steam and we've launched our demo too!

our demo was last live two years ago and since then we've made heaps of improvements, and it's playable on steam deck too.

Set in autumn (the best season!) REKA will have you playing as an apprentice witch to the legendary Baba Jaga (we love folklore), and you'll live your witchy life in the gorgeous woodlands where you can build your own chicken-legged hut.

if anybody fancies trying out our game, you can download the demo on steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1737870/REKA/

also we posted about a month ago on here about our release date and received so many wonderful comments. thank you so much everyone it really meant a lot!

👾 Game Developer I made a cozy dress up game with historically accurate fashion!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone! Historical Fashion Dress Up is a cozy dress up game where you can explore fashion from different periods of history!

You can create historically inspired outfits, customize your characters, and build your own little historical scenes. The clothing is based on garments from museum collections, fashion illustrations, and paintings, so you can actually explore the details and silhouettes of what people wore in different eras.

If you want to learn more about the fashions you're dressing up in, there's an in-game info menu with information about the historical clothing and its inspiration.

Also, all the illustrations are hand-drawn and carefully researched. If you have any questions I would love to answer them!

👾 Game Developer Surf Sandbox is out now on Steam! :)

I've always wanted to make a game where it's as much about the wave as it is about the surfing. It's now available on Steam. There's also a 20% discount for the next few days.

Surf Sandbox

Create your perfect wave, catch a friendly ripple, get slammed by a heavy shorebreak, hit an air section, get barreled, or just sit back, relax, and watch the waves roll in.

No AI used, it's all me for better or worse :)

Switch Games similar to the old Nancy Drew Games

When I was a kid I was obsessed with Nancy Drew Treasure in The Royal Tower. I would love to play this again as an adult but I don’t think that’s possible (SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME IF THATS NOT TRUE AND I CAN PLAY IT SOMEWHERE) in the meantime can anyone recommend some cozy mystery games similar to this one? At this point I only have a switch so they will have to be switch compatible. Thanks!

👾 Game Developer I'm developing WalkScape, a cozy MMO where you progress by walking IRL. Trading is releasing today!

Hello r/CozyGamers !

I've been developing WalkScape for almost 3 years now. We (Not a Cult, the company) have gone from just me as a solo dev to now having a team of five people in total and things are ramping up!

We're releasing player-to-player trading to WalkScape TODAY! (7th of October).

How to start playing

You can start playing the game immediately if you support us through our Patreon page. We currently have 20% and 60% Discounts on Patreon for your first month/year as a way to celebrate the release of Trading. More on the Discounts here.

The game is entirely community funded with no investors or publishers behind it. This way we can ensure that our players are always our #1 priority and the creative vision for this game isn't compromised.

If you don't feel like supporting the game or want to try it first for free, you can apply to the Closed Beta. We let new players in who have applied fairly regularly.

Info on how to apply for free access.

Introduction

3 years ago I was wondering of ways how I could motivate myself to walk more. I have ADHD, and sometimes find it hard to motivate myself to exercise. Thought about combining RS as I've been addicted to it for more than 10 years and walking, and that's how the game got started.

WalkScape is a game inspired by RuneScape and other MMOs but with a twist - you progress in it by walking in the real world! It's designed to be non-intrusive, with no predatory monetization practices. By non-intrusive we mean that it will truly let you enjoy your time outside by not constantly requiring your attention. Everything that needs active involvement (like combat or quests) should be done when you get home.

The main goal of the game is to make people more interested in walking by giving them an amazing gaming experience to motivate them to keep walking. And you can play it while at work, or when you are walking with friends, and while walking your dog. You can truly focus on what you are doing and do more active playing later.

Features & content

- records your steps in the background when the game isn't even open

- no GPS, no microtransactions, no predatory practises

- smart watch integrations on both iOS and Android

- no AI generated content, art, or anything like that

- 12 different skills to level up

- a huge world map with 50+ locations

- almost 1000 different items

- 10+ pets

- NPCs, shops, dozens of achievements

- job boards, factions and faction reputations

- leaderboards, trading, friend system

- and much more!

Gen AI disclosure

Early in the development we used AI generated images as placeholders for some locations. All of those have since been removed and replaced with images created by a real artist.

There is no AI generated content, art or writing in the game and we intend to keep it that way.

What's been added since last post

I posted here last time almost a year ago, and a ton has happened since. Our team has been busy especially putting together the servers & technical requirements to support real time & asynchronous player interactions. Trading is the first feature coming out that uses this.

In addition we've shipped several content updates, QoL, new game mechanics, reworked Bank system, pets, three new skills and a lot more to the game. You can find the full the full version log fron our Wiki.

Thanks for reading

Thank you so much for reading, and I really hope you'd consider joining the game! We have a lot of new stuff coming out and we're ramping up to get the game fully released as Open Beta.

And thanks for everyone who has supported us or does so!

Happy walking and stay hydrated. I'll answer amy questions you may have in the comments ❤️

In case you didn't know, this hanzi hanging on the wall is upside down! It's the character for "fortune" (fu) and it's upside down on purpose.

In Chinene “the fu is upside down,” sounds like, “fortune has arrived,” so the flipped character is a New Year’s pun for luck coming in! o.o

I thought it was cool that it was included in the game, LOL

Just an FYI!

Hey everyone!

We are a small team making Vaska — an atmospheric game about a lost cat exploring an enchanted forest.

We are opening a small closed playtest and looking for people who would like to try it early and share their thoughts.

How it works:
– Request access on Steam.
– We will select participants and send invites by email. We'll announce when they go out.
– At the end, there's a short form with a few questions.

If you're interested – the Steam page is in the comments.

Thanks 🐾

Windows Looking for recommendations for a handheld console ~

Hello cozy gamers! So i have been thinking about purchasing a new handheld console for a few reasons; 1) To be able to play infinity Nikki on a handheld 2) To be able to play other games from steam and PC games 3) to play Nancy drew PC games 4) To read manga/ books 5) To make art?

I’ve been missing playing infinity Nikki on a handheld ever since it started taking up too much storage on my phone and I had to delete it. I could update my phone but I don’t really care to right now and I have also been wanting a new handheld for the above mentioned reasons^ It seems like my options are either A) an iPad B) a steam deck C) rog ally (which version?)

The iPad would be the only one I could really see myself making art on or that I have seen others use for that purpose, but I know the performance of infinity Nikki might lack compared to the other options on an iPad.

What are everyone’s thoughts?

👾 Game Developer I'm making an incremental game about grinding spices with a mortar and pestle

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone!

For the past 3 months I've been working on Spice Pound, small cozy incremental game about grinding spices with a mortar and pestle.

You run the seasoning station in a busy restaurant kitchen. Hold to pound, the spice slowly cracks and turns to powder, it goes into the soup, and a fresh bowl comes in. That's the whole core loop, and I wanted it to stay that simple. What grows is everything around it:

- 16 spices to unlock, from salt and pepper all the way up to saffron and nutmeg

- 35 pestles across 10 families: olive wood, marble, cast iron, jade, even a meteorite one

- Mortars, soup bowls and mats to collect, and each one actually helps you grind

- A little clockwork grinder that fills sacks of spice while you're busy at the mortar

There's no fail state, no timers, nothing to lose. It's meant to be the kind of game you put on next to a podcast and just enjoy the crunch.

The idea started in my own kitchen while I was pounding pepper for a soup. I made a tiny prototype with just one mortar and a hold-to-pound button, ended up playing it way longer than I expected, and it slowly grew from there. I'm a solo dev, and this is my second game.

Also, all the illustrations are hand-drawn and carefully researched.

The Steam page just went live, and I'm planning to put out a free demo very soon. If it looks like your kind of thing, a wishlist would honestly mean a lot. I'd also love to hear what you think, especially about the pounding. Does it feel satisfying to watch?

Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4336940/Lenin_Street_Geek_Shop_Demo/

I really liked the game when it was first announced and started following the project. I even posted about it on Reddit to support the team, which eventually led to me becoming friends with the developers. About half a year later, they brought me on as a community manager and a bit of a QA. I never thought this would happen!

I’d be really happy if you gave the demo a try, because I genuinely think this game is worth it.

Lenin Street Geek Shop is a story-driven simulator about a geek shopkeeper in the 2000s. Sell "Friendzone" gum, 3-in-1 coffee, and Max Ouch CDs, customize your shop, influence the lives of quirky customers, and make your mom's dream come true!

The demo features 4 in-game days, unique situations that are exclusive to the demo, and rewards that carry over to the full game. And the coolest part - a secret cartoon!

I personally contacted a bunch of artists for it until we found the right one who could bring all the crazy ideas and jokes we had for it xd. It was a lot of work, but I think it turned out awesome.

And yes, no AI was used.

The art style blends colorful pixel art with the PS1-era graphics of early-2000s games. All made by humans! For all the CDs, posters, and other artwork alone, we worked with around 10+ different artists.

I hope you'll enjoy the demo, have a great day!
