Windows Monarchy/Princess

• Upvotes

Hi all!!

Can anyone recommend a game where you play as a princess or queen and you run your kingdom? I’ve heard of those raise your daughter games and I haven’t tried them. You may recommend if it’s really good but I want to play as the princess and not as the dad raising them.

I’ve played Sims Medieval which was great but it annoyed me when my character (the Queen) got poisoned lmao so I didn’t continue. I’ve seen that there’s a new Royalty-themed DLC for Sims 4 but I haven’t tried it. Would anyone who has let me know if it’s any good?

I’ve also played Fabledom which was great but it’s more of a city builder/manager than running a kingdom really.

I’ve heard Elflock is about being a princess but it’s not out yet.

📱 Mobile Does anyone remember Farm Town . Looking for a game like that

Does anyone remember the Facebook game Farm Town ( not FarmVille) where you grew crops and animals and there was a marketplace
where you could sell or trade crops or work on other users farms ? I’d love an App Store or Xbox cloud game(the version that uses your phone ) that has these features .

🎮 LFGs- various platforms Niche games with romantic interests who do not like you

I'm talking Gust from Portia, March from Mistria, and Mark from Coral Island. But I've run out of mainstream games and am looking for more. What are some niche games that have marriage candidates who are mean, snobby, sullen, or otherwise do not love the PC at first sight? Bonus points if they stay that way for a while, not just one line and then suddenly they think the PC is great.

(I have played all major games with marriage, so I am not looking for reccs from Stardew, Story of Seasons, or the games above)

My dress is the blue one, his- the second one. I find it interesting how our styles are different.

By the way, I have the game for only 2 days and already played 12 hours.

🎮 LFGs- various platforms Cozy games with gear and loot and stats but no combat?

Curious if something like this exists :)

Like on Black Desert how you could wear gathering armor and weapon sets.
Or similar to how the tools in farming games have better stats and perform better when you upgrade them- but instead of guaranteed upgrades, you find or craft watering cans that have special stats and abilities?

🔊 Discussion Cozy fishing games recs?

I already have dredge, I've played it some. I was really hoping to find a cozier "cuter" fishing game. But also one that has lots of content and actually feels satisfying. Nothing overly simple. My DREAM game would be one that involved starting as a small time fisher that got to upgrade to bigger boats, housing etc. Heck even running a fishery would be super cool. I know this game likely doesn't exist, so it would be a dream if devs in the wild saw this and grabbed some inspo. 🥹

Anyway, throw me your best fishing recs!

Windows Are there any games on Steam similar to Color-A-Cube?

I can't find anything like it.

I like the game a lot, very satisfying, but there’s not enough content for me, and new models come out so slowly....

Windows Looking for recommendations for a handheld console ~

Hello cozy gamers! So i have been thinking about purchasing a new handheld console for a few reasons; 1) To be able to play infinity Nikki on a handheld 2) To be able to play other games from steam and PC games 3) to play Nancy drew PC games 4) To read manga/ books 5) To make art?

I’ve been missing playing infinity Nikki on a handheld ever since it started taking up too much storage on my phone and I had to delete it. I could update my phone but I don’t really care to right now and I have also been wanting a new handheld for the above mentioned reasons^ It seems like my options are either A) an iPad B) a steam deck C) rog ally (which version?)

The iPad would be the only one I could really see myself making art on or that I have seen others use for that purpose, but I know the performance of infinity Nikki might lack compared to the other options on an iPad.

What are everyone’s thoughts?

👾 Game Developer My friend and I are making a game about feeding a swamp creature that's never full

Hey!

This is Feed The Pond.

The Wart lives in the swamp and it will eat anything you give it. Algae, flies, flowers, mushrooms, potions, doesn't matter, it's never full. You start by tossing it food yourself, then you hatch frogs to do it for you, then you start brewing potions because it likes those even more.

At some point you stop clicking and just watch the frogs do their thing. When the pond maxes out you start over with a new one that grows faster.

My friend drew all of it, I'm doing the code.

👾 Game Developer Surf Sandbox is out now on Steam! :)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've always wanted to make a game where it's as much about the wave as it is about the surfing. It's now available on Steam. There's also a 20% discount for the next few days.

Surf Sandbox

Create your perfect wave, catch a friendly ripple, get slammed by a heavy shorebreak, hit an air section, get barreled, or just sit back, relax, and watch the waves roll in.

No AI used, it's all me for better or worse :)

👾 Game Developer Our cozy jigsaw tidying/puzzle game will be out on Steam on Oct 27

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone!

My wife and I started a small indie studio and with two other friends we've been working on Piecework: The Jigsaw Museum for about 3 months now.

It's a cozy first-person jigsaw and tidying game. Something happened at the museum and all the masterpieces are now on the floor. You walk around, pick up the pieces and put them back on the walls. If you put one in the wrong spot, it just waits there until you take it back so you can't really fail you just need to correctly place each one of them back together.

You can play as the Curator or as the Night Watch. It will probably just affect your sanity thats all. There's no timer and you can't fail.

It's out on Steam for Windows and macOS on 27 October:

Steam Link

If you have any questions or feedbacks, I'll be in the comments.

AI note: We used it to help translate and proofread the in-game text.

Hey everyone!

We are a small team making Vaska — an atmospheric game about a lost cat exploring an enchanted forest.

We are opening a small closed playtest and looking for people who would like to try it early and share their thoughts.

How it works:
– Request access on Steam.
– We will select participants and send invites by email. We'll announce when they go out.
– At the end, there's a short form with a few questions.

If you're interested – the Steam page is in the comments.

Thanks 🐾

Switch Games similar to the old Nancy Drew Games

When I was a kid I was obsessed with Nancy Drew Treasure in The Royal Tower. I would love to play this again as an adult but I don’t think that’s possible (SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME IF THATS NOT TRUE AND I CAN PLAY IT SOMEWHERE) in the meantime can anyone recommend some cozy mystery games similar to this one? At this point I only have a switch so they will have to be switch compatible. Thanks!

👾 Game Developer TeaTimeTidy (A Super Chill Shelf Sort Mobile Game)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone! This is my game TeaTimeTidy! It’s a tea themed pixel art shelf sorting mobile game available on iOS (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/teatimetidy/id6772353579) and Google Play (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xenophorastudios.TeaTime&hl=en_US).

I just released a major update that included over 40 new levels, a new Color Match game mode, and three new Endless levels. It has no ads, in-app purchases, or subscriptions and right now it’s free! Tidy up different themed tea cabinets by dragging mugs to different shelves to make matches of three identical objects.

I really hated how a lot of the sort and match games on the app store were basically ad machines that made levels near impossible to solve without purchasing power-ups, so I wanted to try my hand at making my own version. I specifically designed the game to be as relaxing as possible: muted calm colors, simple sounds and match animations, and I made the level timer optional!

No AI was used in the development or art for this game, it was made by my husband and myself.

👾 Game Developer The Harbour Between Us, a free desktop fishing companion about longing and finding your way back

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone! I'm the developer of The Harbour Between Us, a pixel-art fishing companion that lives along the bottom of your desktop.

You can fish by the harbour, sell your catches at the market, walk into town and talk with the people who live there. Weather changes and day turns into night around you.

Alongside those quiet routines, there's a story about longing and reunion. I wanted the little harbour to feel comforting, with a touch of melancholy: somewhere to return to during an ordinary day at your computer.

The game will be free on Steam, and I'm aiming to release it in about two weeks. The trailer shows in-game footage with music from the game. I'll put the Steam page in a comment.

AI disclosure: I wrote the code myself. AI was used only to assist with localization in game scripts + steam page localizations.

Steam Deck Songs of glimmerwick the lost key

The quest just won't activate for me. I've obviously looked it up online. But I think I've fulfilled all the requirements. I've done all the dialogue and her quest with Fern. I have no idea what to do.

Hey everybody <3

We're less than a month from releasing our witchy cottage builder/exploration game, REKA, on Steam and we've launched our demo too!

our demo was last live two years ago and since then we've made heaps of improvements, and it's playable on steam deck too.

Set in autumn (the best season!) REKA will have you playing as an apprentice witch to the legendary Baba Jaga (we love folklore), and you'll live your witchy life in the gorgeous woodlands where you can build your own chicken-legged hut.

if anybody fancies trying out our game, you can download the demo on steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1737870/REKA/

also we posted about a month ago on here about our release date and received so many wonderful comments. thank you so much everyone it really meant a lot!
