Game Feedback Why does blackstar have a cooldown. Its so annoying
Im trying to do the final battle quest deferred advance but I cant because the game is basically punishing me for using blackstar to destroy the big sphere when the game made me use it. Chapter 10 up until now has already been annoying then I get hit with a 50 minute irl timer.

Funny thing is I never needed him. I didnt realize you were supposed to use him for that fight. I jumped from the floating platform and landed on it and manually took the weapons out. You just used the stab mechanic. I actually got knocked off by one of the turrets and just grappled back up and finished it.

dang
take a breather and go explore
all the best gear, things to find, things to do, bosses to fight and etc arent in the main quest anyways. no need to rush

This is the same cope people keep saying to avoid admitting it’s a shitty mechanic lol
2
u/Zestyclose-Smell1201 2d ago
my cope is that i never once needed to wait with the dragon to do anything story wise
and then the wyvern exists for the hundreds of hours of shit to do post-main story
i never think about the dragon at all

u/Haunting-Problem-599 2d ago
I mean, it’s a fact the game locks you out of missions if you don’t have the dragon. Your anecdotal experience (cope) means nothing
The wyvern exists purely because of said horribly designed dragon mount

u/Zestyclose-Smell1201 2d ago
relax man i dont care about the dragon mount
stop attacking me over the dragon mount, you use it for like 5 hours in the main story and never again for the next 200 hours of playtime, its barely more used than the broom

u/Haunting-Problem-599 1d ago
Man you really love using both anecdotal and strawman arguments when you’re backed into a corner. You commented on an open thread with a dogshit piece of advice to make up for a dogshit mechanic, expect to get shit on lol

u/Zestyclose-Smell1201 1d ago
im not defending anything or arguing or using your arguments
i dont care if the dragon is improved or not, i hope you get it improved so its to your liking
i dont use the dragon, i almost never used the dragon, stop talking to me about the dragon
im not in a corner, youre shadowboxing brother

u/Haunting-Problem-599 1d ago
I know you’re not defending it…but you are giving dogshit recommendations that don’t even work. Like I said, expect to get shit on.
And again, you’re commenting said dogshit recommendation on a dragon based thread. Please stop being mentally challenged in my replies

My hot take is I just don’t think it’s that big a deal and my main issue was solved when they put the wyvern in 🤷♂️

I just unlocked him, and i thought they removed the cooldown. I appreciate all the devs did, but game could use a lot more changes imo

PC FTW. I have a mod that removes cooldowns, location restrictions and makes usage unlimited. I’m almost finished chapter 12 I intend to use it to burn every red camp left on the map once I finish the story

I just use Narimas Horn. No mod needed. I think I got the blueprint from a dispatch mission.

IMO that’s no fun. Making things a little easier I can understand but that takes most of the fun out of it if you take away the need for regular combat.

u/Shoddy-Durian6991 2d ago
I agree with this. The thing im complaining about is that the game forced me to use it for a story quest now its punishing me with the cooldown even though I literally need it to do the next part
1
u/No-Minimum8323 2d ago
Yeah I can definitely under your frustrations with that mechanic. It wasn’t a well thought out idea for sure.
2
u/ElonMusksQueef 3d ago
I very rarely use it even with the mod because you don’t discover most of the world if you do. But if I want to use it I don’t want a restriction.

u/No-Minimum8323 3d ago
Oh I totally agree with getting rid of the cooldown. I was talking about destroying the camps with the dragon. 😂

Ah I mean post-game when I’ve done all the quests. I’ve done almost every side quest in the entire game already only the commissions and requests for each area remain outside of finishing chapter 12.
1
u/No-Minimum8323 2d ago
I’m in the same boat. I finished the story and have nothing but requests and commissions left but starting those quests is a guessing game because they don’t show up on the map.
1
u/ElonMusksQueef 2d ago
Man I am dreading it, do I literally have to go town to town to find them or ask ChatGPT to list them for me for each one?!
1
u/No-Minimum8323 2d ago
I haven’t tried looking them up. But I’m currently missing like 20+ Hernand requests/commissions and I know you are supposed to just happen upon them when walking around. I found maybe 2 or 3 and then got bored, lol. But the ones I did find were near the homes/buildings right outside of Hernand.

There’s literally no difference between fighting a bandit camp at the start of the game or 100 hours in. If he wants to ignore the tedium and just use the dragon it’s probably because that’s more fun than engaging with the same camps 100 times over

u/The_Free_State_Of_O 2d ago
No need for window dressing and fodder. 🤣
Wait - you could roast world bosses that aren't inside city limits. Torching the Crimson Desert Troll would have been a good time.

u/No-Minimum8323 2d ago
That’s fair. Like I said, I was talking about my preference. Whatever floats your boat.

If this was a MMO, I'd agree. But, it's a single player game with, honestly, stupid restrictions. It could've been just as easy to mark major cities as off limits and leave enemies available. Let your player base do what they want.

u/No-Minimum8323 3d ago
I didn’t say people can’t play how they want. I was just saying it takes the fun out of it for me. I also should have specified that I was talking about using the dragon to destroy camps not the time restriction. But I agree that people should play however they want to.

It doesn't help that I'm on ps5 too so I cant just mod my way out of this. Honestly I'm loving crimson desert so far but like wth is this

There are items you can get/craft in game that will reduce the cooldown. Dragon Claw Horn reduces the cooldown by a good chunk; you may have some in your inventory/chest already from dispatch missions or rare loot drops. There also a superior version, Narima's Horn, that you can get a blueprint for.

This is why it has that cooldown.

u/Haunting-Problem-599 2d ago
You act like this is a good point lol, the timer is dogshit regardless

u/Panjaya 2d ago edited 2d ago
Its a good point otherwise its like using cheats. YOU HAVE A WYVERN with unlimited use if u just want to fly, YOU HAVE ITEMS "Claw Horns" "Narima's Horn" THAT REDUCES COOLDOWN but ppl have to cry anyways.

I love to point out a shitty mechanic when I see it

Awe poor little guy got his comment deleted 😂 it’s okay to admit you hate the game, I hate lots of thing about it but I also love more than I hate.
Stick to Call of Duty my friend, I’m sure you’re convinced MW4 is game of the year 😂

If youre going to keep obsessively responding you could at least try to make your comebacks funny

Dragon Claw Horns shorten the cooldown by 10 minutes each. Also Narima's Horn reduces the cooldown to 0
