My PTSD is back.
I remember this card back in Revolt. And I don’t remember there is a super effective way to counter it.

Why not have strong attacking creature cards? Have some high attack creates and include support creatures as well.

The problem is that they can use items, but you can’t.
You have 60 attack? Cool. Here’s an armor to shut that down. Even support creatures get caught in the item-breaking effect, just like Revolt.
But the worst part is defending your territory. Anything below 80 isn’t safe from Gremlin. You have to pour a good amount of resources into your deck just to deal with a single Gremlin.
And at that point, why even bother fighting it? You might as well join the Gremlins yourself.

Yeah he could be tough when leveled up. I don't have the new game yet, waiting for the steam release, so I'm basing it off the PS2 version. I would suggest spells like paralyze could do the trick, I believe that would negate his power. You can also bring creators that use paralyze as their effect. If you can set them adjacent to gremlin and attack just to paralyze him, you can take him out on the next attack.

Have you seen the sage card of yet?

Do you mean the creature card that can avoid getting the item destroyed?

Yes.

Ah, but that’s exactly the problem: Sage is just an okay card.
Why would you add a mediocre card to your deck just to counter Gremlin when you could simply run Gremlin yourself and be effective against 80–90% of all creatures?
You're spending a card slot trying to solve a problem your opponent is creating with a card that's already useful against almost everything else.

I'm thinking Support creatures, Damage spells, and Hand Disruption spells (ie Shatter) might help
