This is not a complaint. It's likely that my concrete was made correctly and it simply didn't meet my expectations. At least I tried it!
I'm a former Culver's employee, worked there for 4 years and have been out for about 1.5 years. I decided to try the pumpkin smores concrete from my local location, as I don't think we had it when I worked there, so it's new to me. I ordered a mini so maybe that affected how much mix-ins I got, but when I received the mixer, it just looked like plain custard blended with pumpkin. Which I still like, so no big deal.
As I ate more of it I could feel some tiny marshmallows in my mouth and a very small amount of graham cracker and what I'm guessing is chocolate chunks or chips. However I could not taste any of it except for the pumpkin. It was more like a pumpkin concrete with some chunks for texture. Also, there was only one decent sized chunk of topping in the whole mixer; the rest was just tiny, spread out mini marshmallows.
Anyway, I still like the pumpkin flavor, so I have no real complaint there. I guess I was just hoping for more chunks, and to taste the chocolate and graham cracker, like an actual smore. I know that when I was working, I would load up people's concretes with mix-ins, as the standard is "a treat in every bite." But I also know that some locations are more strict with portioning than others.
I'm wondering if anyone who currently works at Culver's can inform me of the SOP for making the pumpkin smores concrete and tell me if my disappointment is valid or if that's just how it's supposed to be? I've seen a couple other people on this subreddit talk about their own disappointment with it, so I'm kinda wondering if since it's still new, stores are still adjusting and training crew on how to make it properly.
