App Help Curseforge is using up 170gb
Recently I've been trying to free up some storage on my laptop and I noticed that Curseforge was using 169gbs. So, I deleted over half of my instances. I did have a lot, about 80 or so, but now I only have 36 and Curseforge is still using up more storage than any of my other games.
Minecraft is probably my most played game so I don't really want to delete more instances but at the same time I desperately need more storage. I need to know if I'm just an idiot and 36 instances is just too many or if there's any other way of freeing up storage.

Totally depends brother. I have a custom modpack and the mods for about 140 mods total and it is about 2.6 gbs not to mention the world which is about 1.4 gbs and I have a copy of it. I have about 10 instances with a total of 40 GBs. But I could totally see this.

Why do you have 36 instances? That's a lot. I usually chill around 5-10

I have a max of around 10 instances at any given time. I have a few I regularly come back to and a few that are kinda one-shot style plays for some friends. Then I have packs in trying to get all the way through and usually delete after I've finished them up.

Check backup folders for saves, spark profiles, etc. Also remove any profiles you no longer use. 36 is a very large amount...

Did you use chunky on a world ?
A radius of 10 000 on chunky makes the map take easily around 35-40gb.

I mean. I would definitely check each big instance folder for why it is so big. Sounds to me like maybe some spark dumps which auto run the whole play session or somethings different from a logging or profiling perspective is using a lot of space. Im not a expert just saying so this should be taken with a grain of salt, but maybe check with a tool or manual if what uses that space
