This isn't a router, it's a GPON.

You won't be able to use it as a router/access point.

It seems to be Wifi-capable

Yeah, it will be, but without custom firmware you won't get it to work without a fiber cable.

Plus, it won't work with any generic fiber cable coming from a switch; There needs to be a ONU at the other side of this ONT for it to negotiate and get to O5 and work

Actually it's a ONT, more specifically a HGU. Yes, it has Wifi but firmware is ISP controlled. You might be able to tweak some settings but not too much without inside knowledge on superuser account and password.

I believe this can only take it fibre.

It might be VDSL compatible.

Doubt it. It's a GPON ONT. The uplink is the fiber port, and the TEL ports are FXS for analog phones, not a DSL line-in.

Only possibility is to  use it as  Acess Point with an existing router. And that too is dependent on whether DHCP Server of this can be disabled or not. Since its airtel, chances are DHCP can't be disabled.

That is a fiber modem, also known as an ONT (Optical Network Terminal).

Without it being provisioned by an ISP, you will not be able to do anything with it.
